The time has come for me to put away the spatulas, cake tins, mixers and turn the oven off!
After 10 plus years of creating custom cakes for my wonderful customers, sadly the time has come for me to step away for awhile.
As you can imagine, 10 years of baking meant many extremely late nights and very early mornings to finish cakes, pack and deliver.
So many hours and love went into creating each and everyone of my cakes, however, this also meant no family time, no time for my horses, no girls weekends and having parents living 3 hours away meant I would only visit 2 or 3 times a year.
Covid has affected us all, and being a baker not knowing from one week to the next if orders would be able to be fulfilled was rather stressful, so I decided I wouldn’t take on orders for awhile.
Sadly, my beloved dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in March, I have been travelling back and forth to attend oncologist appointments, and to support both mum and dad. Dad was given a short few months to live, no treatment options available. Dad passed in May.
So for now, I am packing the equipment away and concentrating on what’s important to me.
Family, friends and horses.
