‪I don’t make many vegan cakes, but every now and then the need arises - so naturally I turned to the queen of reliable recipes and made vegan dark chocolate cake. There wasn’t even time for a before photo before the hungry crowd dove in! Nothing but crumbs left 😊 👏🏻

Baking lots of chocolate chip cookies tonight as thank you gifts for my kids’ teachers and the school admin staff. I was inspired after reading Nigella Lawson’s recent email about edible gifts. Only problem is her email paints an idyllic cosy kitchen scene in her Wintry London home; meanwhile in Oz Summer has arrived and that means I can’t wait to turn the ovens off! 🌞 It’s nights like this I know I was definitely born in the wrong hemisphere! ❄️

My lovely work mate Julie requested this fiery cake display for her husband’s special birthday so that all the party guests would be reminded of his former career as a fireman when they lived in the UK 🇬🇧. 🚒 I think the salted butter caramel filling in the cupcakes would have helped to ‘extinguish’ their sugar cravings.
