Isn’t this a fabulous tin! We call it a Gugelhupfform (isn’t that a fabulous German word!).

Anyway, this tin is from my Oma, Christine, whom I was named after, but who I, sadly, never met.

I am going to use this tin today to make a Zimtgugelhopf πŸ˜‰

Fresh mandarins from the garden. Soooo good. Picked 5 minutes ago, just in time before the next downpour. These ones, and probably also the next load, we will just enjoy fresh. After that, I might think about making a cake. Thoughts? Let me know!

Look at those slices! I didn't get a chance to cut the loaves last night, so, here are the results of my pre-breakfast photo shoot this morning 😜

The GF rustic bread with seeds (which I trialled as a large 1-kg loaf) turned out so well - beautiful crumb, not sticky and cutting so well into the thinnest slices (although I am a thick-slice girl).

The GF walnut loaf has a beautiful taste and crumb, but it needs more lift (indicated by the somewhat dense crumb particularly at the base) ... next time ...

Anyway ... breakfast was delicious - thick slices of each bread, buttered and with home-made lemon, limequat & lime marmalade πŸ‹πŸ‹β€πŸŸ©πŸ‹

Monday afternoon bake to do some more R & D - always another idea to try out:
🍞 gluten-free rustic loaf packed with toasted linseeds, sesame,
pumpkin, sunflower and poppy seeds
and
🍞 a variation of my gluten-free light 'white' loaf
- today with walnuts and sprinkled with chia seeds.

I cannot wait to cut into these!

For all those amongst you that are STILL in search of decent gluten-free bread!

This bread is soooo good - it is rustic, wholesome, made with my own high-quality flour blend and also contains toasted seeds. It cuts well, keeps well and tastes simply delicious!

Would you like to learn how to make this yourself at home? Here's your chance: I have just scheduled one more class (all classes until August are already fully booked):

A perfect day for baking today, isn't it! It is wet, grey and cold outside, so, the ovens are going and the most delicious smells have been emanating from the kitchen.

I have been craving pretzels πŸ₯¨πŸ₯¨πŸ₯¨, and so I baked a load of them. I love them so much, just with butter, probably because they remind me of home - growing up, Mum would always go to the local bakery in the village early on Saturday morning, and we would enjoy warm pretzels for breakfast. So good!

They are also fun to make! If you would like to learn how to make them so you can enjoy an authentic German breakfast on the weekend, come and join me in one of my classes - I have just added another session too!
