As you go through menopause, you can experience physical and emotional symptoms. These symptoms are caused by changes to hormone levels in your body.

Menopausal symptoms can begin when you’re perimenopausal and continue post-menopause.

Key facts

Menopause is the point in time when you have not had a monthly period for 12 months.

The average age at menopause is 51 years. (Mostly between 43-60 ages)

Menopause marks the end of the reproductive stage of your life.

Symptoms during menopause include hot flushes, night sweats, muscle and joint aches, tender breasts and emotional changes.

Ways to manage the symptoms of menopause include lifestyle changes, hormone replacement therapy and complementary therapies.

A woman experience in menopause can vary dramatically & this is not in anyway a diagnostic post or telling you what to do with your own body.

For me I have a wholistic approach to these changes that began in my very early 40s and are ongoing 10 years later.

My key to living through this process has been to listen to my body and its cues.

🌿Reduce carbs (not eliminate) eat whole foods every meal,
🌿eat mindfully and stop when full.
🌿Minimal caffeine (I’m not going to give up my morning cuppa!)
🌿yoga and mindfulness
🌿 being in whatever symptoms arise (they have changed over time)
🌿 reducing stress
🌿drinking filtered water
🌿healthy sleep habits
🌿minimal alcohol consumption
🌿occasional natural boosters from

Easy weekend breakfast 💚

I like to mix up breakfast between my granola, chia pudding, gluten free nut porridge (winter) and my low carb pancakes 🥣

I do get lazy in the kitchen sometimes…who doesn’t?!

So this quirky recipe for gluten free Finnish Pancake fits the bill for delicious, easy, crowd pleasing and healthy.

What more could you want for a weekend meal?
I’ve even made this in bulk at MBSR retreats 🌟

No standing around making individual pancakes just mix and bake - easy!

🧆 neatballs (nuts/veg)
🌮 chilli bean potatoes

I’ve been on a 10 day detox with so being mindful of the vegetables we eat and making sure the carbs are veg based (rice bloats me anyway…unless cooled & reheated)
