Meet our Warehouse Manager

Name: Jeff Hughes
Position: Warehouse Manager
Everyone calls me: Joffa
I am the Warehouse Manager at Heather Brae Shortbreads and I have been here from the humble beginnings 35 years ago. I started as a 20-year-old in 1986, 2 years before Bass (the current owner of Heather Brae Shortbreads) purchased the business.
I was born in Australia and have always lived in Mill Park. When I am not at work you will find me at either the Epping Cricket Club or the Thomastown Footy Club where I will be coaching, watching my son play or enjoying a pint of VB with my mates.
Sport has always been my passion coming from a background of playing both cricket and footy for Lalor.
I am happily married to my childhood sweetheart Tracy and together we have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Some fast facts about me:
In 2013 I suffered an allergic reaction to flour at work and actually died for 9 minutes before being resuscitated. After this, I was fortunate enough to continue my career at Heather Brae Shortbreads even with a forced career change from Baker to Warehouse Manager.
My favourite food is steak and my favourite drink is - yep - you guessed it VB
What really annoys me is going to a bar and the beer is NOT COLD.
My favourite holiday destinations are Echuca and Singapore.
