To be a cake maker and decorator is not easy and is definitely NOT cheap! I just wanted to explain to people out there what it really involves to practice this art. You cannot compare our made from scratch recipes, hand piped decorations, writing, the time consumed in preparing, baking, icing, decorating each individual cake. You can go down to the supermarket and get a cake for $15, and the reason why it is so cheap is because it is a big chain supermarket who spends millions of dollars on their bulk bought cake mixes. Their factories mass produce thousands of cakes out to all their stores. They have many people working on the same cakes everyday, doing the same icing day in day out. All their supplies are bought in bulk, so it literally costs them nothing to make one cake! .
