I love my sugar flowers but when I’m supplied with the good stuff, it reminds me why this is such a classic look.

All the sugar flowers for my gorgeous Mum on her 70th birthday! 🌸
I had lots of ideas for this cake - which is always the way when you get free reign on a family cake - but I just couldn’t go past this design by when I saw it recently on their feed. Who says semi-naked has had its day?! 💕

I had a bunch of wedding cake sample box pick-ups yesterday and it is always so nice to put a face to the name and the emails. I love hearing about how their wedding plans are coming along and I always have to stop myself from talking too much because I just LOVE weddings and events so much!!

Know that when you choose me to make your wedding cake, you are choosing someone who cares about your wedding day just as much as you do. It’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly and to me it is never ‘just a cake’ 🤍

A show stopper in white with touches of silver for Kristen’s “Winter Wonderland” themed 21st birthday over the weekend!This pic doesn’t show it well but the ruffles had a light dusting of silver and glitter petal dust which twinkled in the light ❄️🤍✨

Although I love to watch cake trends, I’m not always one to jump on them but when I saw add a drip to a Lambeth cake some months ago, I knew having free reign on my sister-in-law’s 40th cake would be the time to try it.
Take a dying trend from circa 2015, mash it with one from 2020 that’s come from a total bygone era, and you have a whole lotta vibe going on! 💖🍒

Handmade sugar hydrangeas on rustic buttercream for Athena’s Christening day 🌸
You may recall seeing these flowers on my stories a couple of weeks back. Each single one is unique because they are made with my own hands. When I dust them, I use a combination of 4-5 different petal dusts which brings a different character to each and every one. Combined they bring a beautiful sense of whimsy to a cake.

“Gemma!! I'm sad I didn't get to catch you yesterday but thank you sooo much for the cake. The cake was delicious and moist! I loved the coconut passionfruit and lime flavour! My little sister who is the Baker of the family loved it as well. We didn't have much left over but I did take the rest home so I'm looking forward to eating that for afternoon tea”

Such a joy to make this ruffle cake for Claire, my lovely work colleague from many moons ago, and her beau Ryan who celebrated their wedding day last weekend.
It’s not everyday you make a wedding cake for a magazine Food Editor and with family transporting the cake up to the Hunter Valley on a humid day, to say I was a tad nervous would be an understatement. So as ever, messages like this make my heart sing…..
“I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing cake! It looked stunning and was delicious, we received so many compliments from people saying they had never eaten a wedding cake that delicious!!!”

Wafer paper blooms and buttercream for Stephanie & Andrew 🤍🤍
Often white buttercream is the holy grail for cake decorators but what I love most about this design is the contrast between the natural ivory buttercream and the white flowers. This was shot on (yet another) rainy day so the shadows are working overtime but I don’t mind at all 🤍

A little big heart cake for Gemma’s Italian themed bridal shower a few weeks back 🤎
It’s been over two years since my dear friend first made one of these big heart cakes for a wedding in February 2020 and it’s been pretty cool to see all the different variations since. I even saw an enormous slab version for 10th anniversary the other day. Now that’s amore!
