As always, on the first Sunday of the month we gathered for lunch at the Sydney Lithuanian Club 🩰

On March 1, Sydney Lithuanians came together at the club in Strathfield not only to enjoy a traditional lunch, but also a special cultural program. Ramona Ratas-Zakarevičius (“Friends of Lithuanian Ballet”) organised her 28th Cultural Afternoon and presented a wonderful photo exhibition of the latest 2025 production – Tuščias atsargumas / La fille mal gardée.

Ramona and Gražina shared more about this cheerful and comic ballet, and guests enjoyed an impressive photo presentation during lunch. The event concluded with a raffle and fantastic prizes – congratulations to all the winners! Thank you everyone for another warm and culture-filled Sunday together.

Join us on March 15 at the Sydney Lithuanian Club for our traditional Kaziukas Fair, where you’ll enjoy a warm Lithuanian atmosphere, delicious food, and handmade crafts. The Aušros Tuntas, Sydney Scouts will be serving traditional stewed sauerkraut with sausages and bagels and you’ll also be able to purchase handmade goods, Ausra’s homemade bread, and many other tasty treats.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, support local creators, and celebrate Lithuanian traditions together.

We invite everyone to a joyful and heart-warming concert celebrating March 11 — the Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence Day, which will take place on Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 PM at the Sydney Lithuanian Club, 32 Parnell Street, Strathfield.

The event will feature guests from Lithuania — Dainava, one of Lithuania’s best-known folk ensembles, which for more than four decades has nurtured traditional songs and dances and has performed all around the world.

You will also enjoy energetic performances by Malūnėlis, as well as appearances by our Sydney groups Atspindys and Sūkurys.

An afternoon filled with songs, dances, and music awaits as we celebrate our freedom and Lithuanian heritage. Everyone is welcome — bring your family and friends! Free entry, donations appreciated.

🇱🇹 Happy February 16th – Lithuania’s Restoration of Independence Day! 🇱🇹

Yesterday, our community came together at the Sydney Lithuanian Club to celebrate one of the most important days in Lithuania’s history – the restoration of our independence.

It was a warm, joyful, and truly heartfelt afternoon filled with culture, pride, and togetherness. The stage belonged to our youth – children born here in Australia, yet carrying Lithuania in their hearts. Through songs, dances, and poetry about their homeland, they reminded us that our traditions and identity continue to live on, even far from Lithuania.

We were proud to see the dancers of Sūkurys present a brand-new dance, and the ensemble Atspindys perform beautiful traditional sutartinės that touched everyone in the room.

A sincere thank you to Gražina for preparing the cultural program, and to Augustas, Saulius, and Jurgita for their hard work behind the scenes to make the event run smoothly. Thank you to all our young performers and families for being part of the celebration, and to the Club for generously providing desserts and snacks for everyone.

Events like this show that our Club is more than just a place – it’s a home for our community.

Together we celebrate. Together we keep Lithuania alive. 💛💚❤️

On Sunday we celebrated World Cepelinai Day and welcomed 260 guests to the club for lunch.

A huge thank you to the amazing volunteers of Australijos Lietuvių Bendruomenė Sidnėjuje , who started early in the morning and made a record 650 cepelinai — what an effort!

Our next event is the Vasario 16th (Lithuanian Independence Day) Commemoration, and we warmly invite everyone to join us.

What a truly special Kūčios evening we shared at the Sydney Lithuanian Club ✨
This year our beautiful community filled the hall to the brim — with 180 people booked, we were completely packed! We are genuinely sorry to those who tried to book at the last minute and whom we couldn’t squeeze in. Your enthusiasm means a lot to us, and we hope to see you at our next event.
Preparing Kūčios in Sydney is no small task — traditional Lithuanian Kūčios food isn’t something you can simply order for delivery 🙂
Because of this, a huge and heartfelt thank you goes to the Cibas family, Directors of the Sydney Lithuanian Club, who were fully involved in the food preparation. Thanks to their dedication, hard work, and love for tradition, we were able to enjoy a beautiful, authentic, and incredibly tasty Kūčios feast.
A big ačiū also goes to our youth ( new arrivals) , who generously volunteered on the day — helping with plating, final touches, and service — and to everyone who stayed back afterwards to help clean up after this massive feast. Your support and teamwork truly made the evening possible 🫶
We hope everyone enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the warmth of being together as a community.
