Yes, we know, it's been a while since we last posted here ...... life has been more than a little hectic over the last 12 months!!

We at Access Town Planning Consultants are super-excited to advise that one of the projects that has been keeping us busy of late is the development of the infrastructure for Go Boats' new Brisbane base at Breakfast Creek, Newstead. Development approval has recently been obtained for the new pontoon and gangway, and we are close to finalising other necessary approvals in coming weeks. Once it is all finalised and in operation, we will be among the first to take a trip in a Go Boat along the beautiful Brisbane River (photos: Go Boat Australia).

One of the more complex projects I have been involved in was the development approvals process for the new sports complex at Nathan Road, Kippa-Ring, for the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

The site was a complex one, in that it was reserved for drainage purposes only, was low-lying and heavily flood prone and contained protected, native vegetation and a significant natural wetland.

In securing the development approval for the new sports complex, we had to navigate our way through a change of the reserve purpose to include recreation, native title processes, complex engineering of the site to achieve the required flood immunity and the establishment of constructed lakes to provide habitat for birds and other local fauna, as well as a passive recreation area for residents.

As you will see from the drone flyover, the results have been amazing and the Moreton Bay community now has a spectacular new sports facility of which they can be immensely proud!

And now for something completely different ...... we have just lodged a development application for a spectacular and very modern new house on a site in Pullenvale, a rural-residential area on the outskirts of Brisbane. The requirement for a DA was triggered by the biodiversity values of the site. The total floor area of the proposed house is 633sqm over two levels.

It is about time we posted something on this page ...... here's a couple of photos of two of our warehousing projects that are under construction or nearing completion. These two are in Wacol and Coopers Plains, in Brisbane.

Hoping all of our clients, colleagues and friends are staying safe and well during the Covid-19 pandemic, as we are!!

Thanks to the Moreton Bay Regional Council, here's a short video showcasing the new sports complex in Nathan Road, Kippa-Ring. Neil de Bruyn, director of Access Town Planning Consultants, handled the town planning approvals process for this development, for the council. It was a challenging site and process, involving state land, Native Title, remnant vegetation and other significant ecological values, both within the site and further afield. It is great to see the complex nearing completion! The design incorporates wetland areas providing habitat for a wide range of species.https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=25&v=W5UGIT_U_VE&feature=emb_logo

Access Town Planning Consultants handled the development approvals process for this project and, as always, it is gratifying for us to see the finished product taking shape. Watch this space for more pics once this development has been fully completed.

..... and another one: we have just received the development approval for a tyre warehousing and distribution development in Coopers Plains, Brisbane. The process was made especially challenging because of the flood-affected nature of the site, and involved investigations by specialist flood engineers and lengthy negotiations with Council's planning and engineering officers. Congratulations and well done to all concerned!
