I spent five years running my own bakery café, and one of the biggest things I wish I’d understood sooner was that doing more doesn’t necessarily mean making more.
More menu items.
More custom orders.
More hours.
More responsibilities.
From the outside, a busy bakery can look incredibly successful.
But behind the scenes, every extra offering takes time, ingredients, storage, preparation and energy.
And if you’re not careful, you can build a business that keeps you constantly busy without giving you the profit or freedom you originally hoped for.
If I were starting again, I’d focus on doing fewer things exceptionally well.
I’d build better systems, understand my numbers and create a business model that actually supported the life I wanted.
Because success isn’t about how much you can fit into a working day.
It’s about building something profitable, sustainable and worth showing up for. 🤎
Save this if you’re building a bakery business, and share it with someone who needs the reminder that more isn’t always better.
