My name is Katrina-Jayne, I am the owner and patissier / cake creator and decorator at The Cake Experience. I started decorating at 11 years old, it was just an avocation back then. However, throughout my journey it became my passion. I am a self-taught decorator, although, I have had some assistance along the way. I joined ‘The Cake Decorators Association of Western Australia’ when I was about 15
years old. I had the opportunity and privilege of learning from some amazingly talented women, some whom, had been decorating for over 50 years. In 2014, I began my courses to become a fully qualified patissier. Once completed, I was able to create stunning tortes, gateaux, slices, cookies, bakery products; I also completed the chocolate and sugar courses, leaving me entirely qualified. However, instead of going to work, I decided to begin my adventure of owning my own business… and here we are. So in the words attributed to Marie Antoinette:
