Have been having fun making some Easter treats.
These two were donated to a cause close to my heart and will be at the Mt Barker Show tomorrow on one of the stalls.
First prize is a massive 1.7kg 15 inch tall, decorated with chocolate dipped dried Citrus Easter Egg valued at $250
Second Prize is a Chocolate & Freeze Dried Raspberry Easter Egg.
Both Beautifully presented in Cylinders to gift to your love or keep for yourself.
Raffle tickets are only $2 each and it will be drawn tomorrow.
Pop down to the Mt Barker Show and find these eggs and help out a Charity ❤️

A special cake for a special lady 💗
She loves orchids, so we ordered some beautiful orchids from Flowers By Terese.

Due to our current unreliable power supply by SA Power Networks & the week from Hell that just was due to no power.
(No power & Cake Decorating do not go well together)
Unfortunately I won't be taking on any new orders until we have a stand alone battery solar system installed.
This was already in the process of organising and hopefully installation is starting next week.
I will also need to organise a back up gas oven (bottled gas) as electric ovens can drain a battery with one hour 😥
If you have already ordered your cakes, this is no problems and they will proceed as ordered.
Thank you for your understanding & I'll let you know when we are able to take on new orders 😊

Such positive feedback from many cake decorator's on my "let's price up shall we" 🤍🤍🤍🤍 I've had a load of messages to say thank you ### Please feel free to share.
Why do this? To bring more awareness about what's actually involved with a custom made cake. So here's another one ###

Cake $60
Ganache/buttercream $60
Flowers $250
Boards $10

Dowel $4
Topper $35
Ribbon $4
Total $436
+ 20% profit = $523.20 covers overheads such as registration, insurance, advertising
Labour factors in clean up time, power, water
Baking 3 hours (cleaning 8 tins as I bake in layers) levelling, prep for freezer
Ganache 1/2 hour
Buttercream 1/2 hour
Applying Ganache/Buttercream 2 hours
Stencilling/Assembly 1 hour
Flower Application 2 hours
Flower pick up 1 hour
Emails 1/2 hour
Set up 1/2 hour
Total 11 hours x $30 = $330
Delivery $80 round trip $1 per km
Total $933.20

I buy my hay for my orphan/rescue lambs from a local grower.
If we ever get to go out for dinner (not often these days) it's supporting another local business.
