I see a lot of business owners feeling like they need to pick a side.

✨ Professional branding photos.
✨ Authentic self-shot content.

The reality is they're designed to do different jobs.

Your audience wants to connect with the person behind the business, but they also want visual cues that tell them they're in capable hands.

One builds familiarity.

One builds trust.

When they're working together, your brand feels both human and established.

Not everything needs to be professionally photographed.

Not everything needs to be professionally photographed.

Not everything should be captured on your phone either.

The magic is knowing when to use each.

A branding shoot is an investment.

The more intentionally you prepare for it, the more valuable your images become.

I created this free guide to help you plan your session, identify the images your business actually needs, and walk away with content you'll genuinely use.

Ever wonder why, when good things start happening, they seem to keep happening?

(Inspired by a little chit chat this morning)

The enquiry lands.
Then the referral comes through.
Then someone remembers your name.
Then an opportunity appears out of nowhere.

Lucky girl syndrome, maybe.

But I think there’s more to it than that.

Sometimes “luck” is what happens when you start moving differently.

You become clearer.
You become more visible.
You stop shrinking around the thing you actually want.
You start showing up like your work is worth being seen.

And suddenly, people can find you.

Not because the universe magically picked you at random, but because you started creating more doors for good things to walk through.

That’s the part we forget.

Luck loves momentum.
Luck loves clarity.
Luck loves the person who finally says "I’m ready for this now"

So yes, be delulu enough to believe good things can happen for you.

But also be visible enough that they know where to land 🤍

Your business has evolved.
Your imagery should too.

Introducing The Brand Edit and The Visual Archive, two branding photography experiences designed for founders and modern businesses wanting visuals that feel aligned with the calibre of what they’ve built.

Because branding imagery should do more than simply “look good.”
It should build trust, communicate professionalism, and support your business strategically across your website, social media, launches, and marketing.

Thoughtful creative direction.
Commercially aligned imagery.
A more cohesive online presence.

Your visuals are already saying something.
Let’s make sure it’s the message you want.

Enquiries now open, DMs or link in bio 🤍

A photo shoot and a branding session are not the same thing.

A photo shoot gives you images.

A branding session gives you a strategy, a visual direction, a curated environment, and imagery that actually does something for your business.

Before we shoot anything, we talk about your brand. Your audience. What you want people to feel when they land on your website or scroll past your post.

Then we build the shoot around that. Studio selection. Styling. Shot list. Every detail is considered before the camera comes out.

The result isn't just a gallery of images. It's a visual toolkit your business can use with intention, across every touchpoint.

Hello alignment!

Some of the best ideas start exactly like this - coffee, a laptop, and a conversation that makes you rethink how you’re showing up online.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be going live with Ash from Alchemy Social House for Coffee & Clarity - a relaxed live series for creatives, business owners and brands who know their content could be doing more than just looking good.

We’ll be chatting about showing up online with more intention, creating content that actually connects, and why “pretty” isn’t always enough if there’s no direction behind it.

Your content is already saying something, let’s make sure it’s saying the right thing.

Coffee & Clarity starts this Friday at noon 🎤

“Whatever you think.”

I hear this all the time.

And honestly? It usually tells me one thing.

You haven’t been shown how powerful your visual presence actually is yet.

Because branding imagery isn’t just about getting content for Instagram.

It’s about shaping perception.

Your visuals are already communicating:
— the level of professionalism in your business
— the experience clients can expect
— the feeling behind your brand
— whether someone connects with you or scrolls past

This is why I care so deeply about the planning process behind a session.

I want to know:
What do you want people to feel?
What currently feels disconnected?
Where are these images being used?
What story does your business need to tell visually?

The strongest branding imagery is never random.
It’s collaborative, intentional, and aligned.

Because “pretty photos” alone don’t build memorable brands.

Motherhood galleries are out 🤍

The soft moments, the chaos, the in-between (snacks) all the things you’ll want to remember when this season feels like a blur.

Thank you for trusting me with your babies, your stories, and these little pieces of your life 🥹

A little update 🤍

Two years ago, I started Ivy Wren

It grew quickly - more than I ever expected, and I’m so grateful for every single person who trusted me along the way.

But somewhere in that growth, I felt myself starting to drift.

Trying to keep up.

Trying to fit into what everyone else was doing.

---

Ivy Wren is becoming Sombra Studio.

A shift into deeper tones, stronger storytelling, and work that feels more aligned with where I am creatively now.

Alongside this, .studio continues to hold the light, a space designed for photographers and creatives to create with ease, consistency, and intention.

And me?

I’m stepping fully into branding photography, helping businesses show up in a way that actually feels true to who they are.

Not how they think they should look.

But this part matters just as much;

To all my mums 🤍
You are still so welcome here.

I’ll still be opening limited sessions throughout the year for maternity, in-studio newborn, and family sessions, along with Christmas and Mother’s Day minis (I need to see your babies growing up 🥹).

I’m so thankful for every bubba you’ve trusted me with, every moment you’ve invited me into, every toddler you've let me bribe, that part of this will always mean so much to me

This isn’t a goodbye.
It’s a refinement.

For nearly five years, my body has not fully been my own.

Two pregnancies.

Countless nights.

And two and a half years of breastfeeding Luca, my youngest, my last baby.

I planned this shoot intentionally.

Not as a photographer chasing a frame, but as a mother wanting to document a season I knew was slipping away.

Weaning him is not dramatic.
It’s quiet, layered, emotional.
Part grief. Part relief. Part pride.

Motherhood asks us to give our bodies in ways that are rarely spoken about;

To carry, to nourish, to soften, to surrender.

And while I am endlessly grateful for what my body has given, I am also learning to welcome it back as my own.

This is the closing of the baby years.
And the beginning of something gentler,
returning to myself.
