The Faces Behind Watsons 🥧

As part of our 20-year celebration, we’re sharing the people who help make Watsons what it is today.

This week, we’re introducing Emma - The Kitchen Manager.

🕐 How long have you worked here?
26 years

🔄 Biggest change you’ve seen?
The area where the Back Shop now stands used to be home to the smokers area, delivery van and storage room. Since then, the business has continued to grow, including the addition of the second-story dining area.

🍰 Favourite bakery treat?
Chocolate eclair

If you’ve ever enjoyed one of our fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers or bacon and egg rolls, chances are Emma had a hand in making it.

But around here, Emma is known for much more than that.

For 26 years, she’s been keeping the kitchen running while keeping everyone laughing along the way. Whether it’s a quick joke, a bit of cheeky banter or one of her daily one-liners, Emma has a way of bringing a smile to everyone’s face.

She’s the kind of person who keeps team morale high, makes busy days a little lighter and reminds us not to take life too seriously.

We’re lucky to have had Emma as part of the Watsons family for the past 26 years.

🕐 How long have you worked here?
34 years — with over 30 years spent delivering pies and bakery orders around town and beyond.

🔄 Biggest change you’ve seen?
The introduction and growth of the Back Shop, along with how much the business and delivery runs have expanded over the years.

🍰 Favourite bakery treat?
Passionfruit cheesecake

From packing the van in the early hours to making sure fresh bakery orders arrive across town each day, Gail has been part of the Watsons routine for decades.

There’s a good chance you’ve seen the Watsons van out and about over the years. Whether it’s pulling up with pies for smoko or dropping off orders around town. Rain, shine, busy mornings or long delivery runs, Gail has always kept things moving behind the scenes.

We’re lucky to have people like Gail who’ve been part of the Watsons story for so many years.

These blokes deserve a shout-out!! 👏🏼🫡🥧

Pie drive season is one of our busiest times of the year.

From schools and sporting clubs to community groups across the North West, the team has been flat out baking pies, sausage rolls and apple pies to help support local fundraising efforts.

Here’s a little look behind the scenes at the crew keeping the ovens firing and the pie drives rolling.

If you’ve ever had a coffee slid across the counter or been greeted with a smile out the front, there’s a good chance it was Sue.

For 22 years, she’s been part of the front shop rhythm. Always with a friendly face, a quick chat, and keeping things moving for the locals who walk through the door each day.

We’re lucky to have her, and we know plenty of you would recognise her.
