Meet Ava’s magical 5th birthday cake — and I’m not going to lie, I’m a little bit in love with this one! 😍

Sparkles? Obviously. ✨
Enough piping to make my hand question all my life choices? ABSOLUTELY. 😂

Finished in dreamy shades of purple, lavender and aqua, this little underwater wonderland was so much fun to create. 🐚🫧🧜‍♀️

Sometimes you just have to say YES! 💜

This birthday cake came together at the last minute for a brand-new customer who found herself needing a cake when her original arrangements fell through.

So, of course, I jumped in! 🦸‍♀️😂

A fishing-themed birthday cake for Paul, complete with his little boat, fishing rod, plenty of ocean waves… and one rather large shark lurking beneath the surface! 🦈🎣🌊

I absolutely love how this one came together — especially considering the very short turnaround!

And can I just say… I really want to know the full story behind this last-minute cake rescue! 😂 But that’s one of those customer stories I’ll probably never get to hear!

From a superhero adventure for Hunter’s 6th birthday 🕷️ to an elegant corporate celebration for Canberra Hand Therapy, complete with matching cupcakes made using my new gluten-free vanilla recipe… and I have to say, they’re absolutely delicious! 🤤

Recipe Testing Day at Wish Upon A Cake! ❤️

Not every new flavour makes it onto the menu straight away…

Before I offer something to my clients, I like to make sure it’s something I’d be proud to serve.

This week it was Red Velvet’s turn! ❤️🎂

After a couple of test bakes (and plenty of quality control 😉), the final taste test was at my husband’s birthday… so we became the official taste testers!

The verdict? It was wonderfully moist, with that classic hint of cocoa and a beautiful velvety crumb.

I’m still making a few final notes, but if all goes to plan, Red Velvet may just become the newest member of the Wish Upon A Cake family!

A “Just Because “ Cake.
One of my favourite messages from a lovely loyal client a few days ago… 🥹💕
‘Sam and I just discussed, and both agreed we want to order a cake from you just because we miss eating cake”. LM. (I do have permission to use her quote)
We discussed some options and decided on a simple design - A small GF chocolate mud cake, semi-naked style with chocolate drip and fresh and freeze-dried raspberries. Yum.

Last week’s schedule was a bit insane but not cake related.
This week is all about cakes!

This week’s planner is looking very full… and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🤍
