Our friends at Devilbend are bringing the Oktoberfest magic back for another round, and it definitely has our stamp of approval! 🙌🏼

Here’s what you can look forward to this Saturday, 17 October:

🍖 A full German menu packed with all the classics

🍺 SEVEN German b**rs flowing fresh from the taps, including our special collaboration: the Oktoberfest Dark Rye L***r, brewed with Devilbend Brewery (yes, it was really made with our Rye loaves!!! How cool is that?)

On Tuesday, 3 November, we’ll be opening our doors from 8am to 2pm, ready to keep you fuelled with all the good stuff for your Cup Day celebrations and Peninsula adventures.

WE COULDN’T HELP OURSELVES! 🥨

We’re SO excited about our new Mornington bakery that we couldn’t resist getting in there and playing around with the space already. And honestly? We’re even more excited now! 🤩

We’ve tested the front cabinet, "fired up" the ovens and had a play in the kitchen, and we can already tell you one thing: it feels AMAZING to be in there 🥹

We’re counting down the days, the hours, the minutes until we can finally open our doors and welcome you into our second home. The excitement is REAL, and we can’t wait to bring you along for every step of the journey!

✨ MEET ALICE ✨

If you’ve ever been to Butterken and wondered “Who is that girl talking at 400 words per minute?” congratulations, you’ve met Alice.

Our FOH all-rounder, Alice, joined us last year just two weeks after finishing school, and has since been blessing our bakery with her infectious energy, approximately 17 daily “OMG”s, an alarming amount of “SLAY”, and absolutely zero ability to zip her lip. 🗣️💅

And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alice LOVES the buzz of Butterken, the queues, the chaos, the energy, the fast pace and, most importantly, talking to people. She says everyone here is incredibly supportive, the food is obviously a bonus, and she loves being part of such a lovely team. 🥹❤️

Her Butterken order?
🍖 Ham. She looooooves the ham.
🍥 Cinnamon scrolls. Which apparently become a serious problem when she takes them home because she has to physically restrain herself from gobbling them all.

Outside of Butterken, spends her time at the gym, hanging out with friends, cafe-hopping around the Peninsula and obsessing over her two cats, Dash & Blue. 🐈🐈 She also has two sisters, which she has cheekily nominated as pets. We have questions.

Born and raised in Surrey Hills, Alice is currently enjoying her gap-year era before diving fully into architecture and while we would LOVE to tell you about her absolutely INSANE ATAR, she has specifically forbidden us from sharing it because she “doesn’t want to brag.” 🙄😂 Humble queen.

Her emoji of choice? 🧘🏼‍♀️

Alice, thank you for bringing so much energy, laughter, chatter and general SLAY to Butterken. We bloody love having you on the team. 🫶

Reintroducing our Blueberry Quark Cheesecake Danish, and we couldn't be happier about it.

Now a little German lesson: Blaub**r-Quark-Käsekuchen (🔊Bl-aww-bear-ke-vark-ke-za-coo-ken) 🤣🤣 Say that three times really fast please!

A buttery, flaky pastry filled with creamy quark, a hint of vanilla and lemon zest, then topped with our blueberry coulis.

A little sweet, a little tangy, and very, very delicious. 💙

Freshly baked and only here for a limited time.
