Last week, Kim had the opportunity to attend the International Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) in Melbourne.
You might wonder what a child-safety conference has to do with tutoring. For us, quite a lot.
Children learn best when they feel safe, heard, respected and confident. The Congress brought together experts, researchers and, importantly, young people themselves to talk about how the adults and organisations around children can do better.
For Kim, it was a chance to bring those ideas back into our Kip centres and think about the experience we create for every child who walks through our doors.
Because great tutoring isn’t only about improving English and maths. It’s also about building relationships, listening to children and creating a place where they feel comfortable to learn, make mistakes and have a go.
We want our centres to be places where children can learn, grow and feel like they belong. 💙
