Now that my cholesterol is back into the ‘normal’ range, it’s time to occasionally say cheese! 😬
Talk about right place, right time. A couple of these cheeses were ‘out of date’ so they couldn’t be sold. So, just because I’m a nice bloke, I reluctantly I took them. 😉
Personally I think cheese should have a ‘do not eat before’ date instead! 🤷🏻
Some heavy hitters on this plate:

This morning as I went to boil a couple of eggs, I accidentally cracked one. There was a ‘buttery’ frying pan on the stove. As I gently loweted the egg into the pan, I noticed some next to the stove. I had a moment. Could it be a sign from the universe?🙄

I’ve always loved a nice fresh, crisp but tender and sweet
I remember a very long time ago, our original partner at Babka, Frieda- she had so many cool, unique food ideas, I suspect from her many travels. She went up to Sydney. Had a meal at some cool new place to be… possibly Icebergs when it opened. Anyway, when she came back, she spoke about this salad she loved. Simply a chunk of iceberg of lettuce cut into wedges, and simply drizzled with dressing. She liked to call it a ‘Sydney Salad’.
That’s my only issue with Iceberg, if you toss it in a salad, it goes limp really quickly. Not so with the wedges. And if you want to go full you could carefully arrange the wedges to resemble the !

Are you familiar with the ?
It’s season in is November to March
You won’t find them in the big supermarkets because they don’t fit their stupid ‘product model’
My opinion- they’re the best. And they can grow to a MASSIVE size!
The flavour, creaminess, their ‘longevity’ in the fridge… second to none.
But here’s a tip. But them well in advance. They’re not at their best (like this one shown) until they’re soft to the touch, and starting to blemish slightly.
I bought these LAST Friday and I only put them in the fridge a day or two ago.
