Absolutely nothing has changed since I was little. ⠀
⠀
Chocolate mousse is one of my family’s traditional Christmas desserts and probably one of the big reasons I love making desserts. It only gets made for very special occasions and a few years ago my dad passed on the recipe to me and my sister, since then I’ve been making it for our Christmas’s. ⠀
⠀
Because I’m still in recovery from surgery, dad and I made it together today for our early family Christmas this weekend, with my mum commentating the whole way! Normally we serve it in beautiful china coffee cups passed down from my grandmother but this year because we are away from home it is being served in bright pink paper cups that aptly express my excitement. ⠀
⠀
Looking forward to the new year and being able to get back on the baking wagon! ⠀
⠀

And just like that, September is over! ⠀

If you have been following my story, you know that a large part of it is built on my chronic pain journey and physical issues with my spine. Today I go in for my 6th and hopefully final surgery to my spine. ⠀
⠀
What does this mean for Sisu? We will be out of commission until January 2020 (unless my doctor says otherwise!) If you have an idea for a cake/cookie/cupcake order don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] and we can talk all things sweet. ⠀

I wish I was as talented as but my talents lie else where, with cakes and slightly simpler cookies. Their cookies are incredible, and taste really good too. I ordered this one at the start of September for birthday. Can’t wait to order more!

Baking is all about precision. I love my scales, they go down to 0.1g and yes I’m weird. Side note- this isn’t even half of the amount of butter I need for what I’m doing this week. So much butter.

Who knew lego could be so delicious? Noah did of course, and his buddies!

This piece of deliciousness was made of vanilla sponge, white chocolate crumb, Swiss meringue buttercream and fondant. All the decorations (except the candle) were handmade. I think making everything by hand gives our cakes a little bit of extra magic.
