I have been working in hospitality for over 10 years, in differents parts of the world, but I have decided to make Australia my home 8 years ago. I have worked in resorts, restaurants, cafes and bakerys but I have now decided to start my own little thing from home. I love the flexibility to create from my kitchen while being able to offer something personal and unique to people around me. I love b

Well, after 4 years of doing Sweet Marie, I can now officially announce this is my last cake for the upcoming futur. I am putting things on hold while working on a new business adventure with my husband. I have met so many lovely people, made so many different cakes each with their own challenges... faced few “baking dramas” but overall, it’s been a great journey. I am so grateful to everyone who entrusted me with their cake orders and who came back years after years. It’s been a true privilege to bake all these cakes for all of you and I just want to say a big thank you!!! Like we say in French, ce n’est pas un “a dieu” mais un “au revoir”( Claire help me if my spelling is wrong!)

Something a bit different for a 40th years old birthday! Flowers are artificial since it was a bit last minute order but very happy with the result.

A fluffy little teddy bear! One marble butter cake and one mud cake!! Lots of piping but a great challenge with the “fur” nozzle! Unfortunately, not to the liking of the client... you win some and you lose some.

Another great classic this week, Pavlova!! Bring me back to my time( rather short!) at Rockpool where Catherine Adams herself commented on my Pavlovas(her)... I had a combi oven though, much easier and better results!!! Few colourful cupcakes as well!!! Busy week for Sweet Marie!!
