This year our first born started Prep! Gosh where has the time gone? As we look into relaunching our business, I have been brainstorming ideas on how I could incorporate things I've learnt and love to make over the past 6 years while I've been away.

Putting together little packs filled with desserts is definately something I enjoy doing so I have created a little mini dessert/afternoon tea box for Toby's teachers.

Toby's teachers have become test subjects for me to try out some ideas and concepts. I hope they enjoy their Easter sweet box 😁. Desserts include mini cheesecake, raspberry jam shortcake and banana bread.

Continuing the post about what else I've been doing with my time...Besides bread and pastries I've also loved making entremets/mini desserts. I made some mini iso packs last year for friends and family to enjoy while we rode out lockdown 2.0? 3.0? 7.0? I can't remember honestly 😵‍💫. It kept me busy and sane while we were stuck inside 24/7.

These desserts will most likely be part of DS in some way in the future. Classes? Dessert packs? Not sure yet but I know this is something everyone would love!

New logo!

Just posting to see how I feel about it all...might not keep it but for now I will sit on it and see how I go. Change is hard but we need a refresh as we started this business over 10 years ago when we were in our early 20's 😲. We have grown and changed and it's only fitting that our logo grows and changes with us. I wanted something nice and simple to reflect how our business will be going forward.

The first thing I found I loved experimenting and learning about is bread doughs! Particularly sourdough bread/focaccia, bagels, enriched laminated doughs (viennoiserie/croissant, pain au chocolat), and milk bread.

I've always wanted to learn about these but felt intimated by how much time they require to create and achieve. With all the time in the world (inbetween all the mum duties) and many willing friends to gain some inches on the hips, I was able to whip, knead and fold away. My journey is still ongoing with lots of fails and success 🧐🌿

Will these be a feature in the new DS? I'm not sure yet 🤨

Hi guys! 👐

It's been awhile since we have posted...yes maybe 6 years? We are excited to announce we will be relaunching Decorative Sweets late this year. New logo, and new studio space 🎊🎉☺️. We will be coming back a little different to what you may remember us from the past. In the last 6 years I didn't stop baking and creating, if anything I've taken the time learn new techniques and skill and find what I'm passionate about again. Shall I show you what I've been up?

Arnott's Biscuits no baking required! Which is a total bonus 😂😍😊. Why not try it with some Tim Tams? Or any other rectangle shaped biscuits!
