When you enquire, send me everything! Your cake inspiration, colour palette, invitations, balloons, event styling, even screenshots of little details you love.
I quote my cakes based on the size required for the number of people you need to feed, as well as the design and elements involved, so having all of this information from the beginning helps me quote and plan your cake as accurately as possible.
Trying to match a specific balloon colour? Send me a photo. Have an invitation you want the cake to tie in with? Send that too. The more I can see, the better I can understand the overall vision you're trying to create.
One thing to keep in mind with colour is that what you see on your screen may look slightly different on mine (and different again in real life!). Lighting, filters, editing, screens and even the products and colour brands I use can all influence the final shade. I'll always strive to get as close as possible.
And trust me, the amount of times I've held buttercream next to an inspiration photo and asked my husband, "Does this look like the same pink to you?" 😂
At the end of the day, your inspiration gives me the direction, and I use my experience, style and creative flair to bring it all together.
Communication is a big part of that too. If something needs to be adapted or an alternative sourced, I'll communicate with you along the way so we're both on the same page.
