Tinana Hot Bread Shop is looking for an experienced Cake Decorator to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is confident across a range of cake decorating styles, including:
• Standard celebration cakes
• Fondant work
• Custom and speciality cakes
• Wedding and engagement cakes
• Detailed and creative decorating

We’re looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and understands that a beautiful cake still needs to taste every bit as good as it looks.

At Tinana Hot Bread Shop, quality products and genuine customer service are equally our number one priority. We want someone who understands the privilege of creating cakes for our customers’ birthdays, weddings, engagements and other special occasions — and who cares about getting those details right.

Tinana Hot Bread Shop is seeking expressions of interest for an Apprentice Baker / Pastry Cook to join our team.

We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in baking and would love the opportunity to learn a trade, develop their skills and build a long-term career in the industry.
You don’t need to know everything about baking — that’s what an apprenticeship is for.

What we do want is someone who is hungry to learn, prepared to work hard, takes pride in what they do and genuinely wants to become a great baker/pastry cook.

Employee Showcase of the Week - Meet Isla
Job Title – Junior Customer Service

Fun Fact – I Play Soccer

Isla first came in to see me when she was just 12 years old to ask if there was any work going. She was sweet, shy and quietly determined all at once, and six days before she turned 13, she worked her very first shift with us. 🥰

One thing that really impresses me about young people today is those who are keen to get out there and start working before they even have to. That willingness to have a go and learn at such a young age says a lot about a person, and Isla impressed me from the very beginning.

For the past 17 months, I have quite literally watched her grow before my eyes. When she started, she came up to about my shoulders… now, at just 14, she towers over me! 😂

But it’s not just her height that has changed. I’ve watched Isla grow into a quietly confident and capable young lady who is always smiling and is just genuinely lovely to have around. One of the things I love most about her is how much she genuinely cares about other people. She’s often the first to ask everyone how they are or how their day has been, and she doesn’t just ask for the sake of asking, she genuinely wants to know.

She is thoughtful, kind, remains super sweet and has been an absolute pleasure to have as part of our team.

I’ve loved watching Isla grow over these past 17 months, and I’m really looking forward to the years ahead and seeing the young woman she continues to become.

Employee Showcase of the Week 🤎Meet Rob🤎

Fun Fact – I own a motorbike and I enjoy the freedom of going on long rides.

When asked to tell us about Rob, Shannon was defiantly not lost for words recalling that for 7½ years, Rob has been one of those people she simply could not imagine the bakery without.

Rob started his apprenticeship in 1989 and 37 years later, continues to demonstrate enormous pride in his craft. While most of us are tucked up in bed and sound asleep, Rob is working away through the night with all ovens blazing, sometimes in 40+ degree heat producing bread that quite honestly, comes out like velvet.

Rob is meticulous. He always arrives for his shift early, his whites are crisp, his routine is sacred, and he ensures everything is left spotless for the next shift.

The thing is…meticulous doesn’t mean quiet! 😂 Rob is FULL of personality and character and when he walks into a room, you know he's there! Away from the bakery, Rob loves his motorbike and a good live gig.

Shannon shared, “the thing I treasure most about Rob is his loyalty. He is honest, hardworking, big-hearted and has stood beside me and the bakery with unwavering commitment”

Rob, you are an absolute character, an exceptional baker and a huge part of the Tinana Hot Bread Shop family. 🤎
