Alright Champions 🤘🏻🤘🏻 YAW Bakehouse 🥧

Going to start off by saying the atmosphere in this joint was better than any other place I’ve visited so far! Walked in and the girls were dancing just setting the tone for the whole shop 🔥🔥🔥

Lid: 🥧

this lid was actually on the higher end of the spectrum presenting itself beautifully like it new the pie guy was coming to rip into it. And when push came to shove this lid backed itself up by flaking away like a bloke who’s been dodging his shout at the pub all night! Honestly had me questioning if I was having a pie or an affair 🤤

Base: 🥧

This is where the post nut clarity started to kick in a little bit… that base had some girth to it, the kind of girth you wish your ex man had but paired with the dreaded tin foil cardinal sin it had turned those walls into accidental swamp ass. Not to mention it affected the filling to pastry ratio, leaving me with a little too much base and not quite enough action in the middle. Bit like getting all dressed up for the night only to find out your date had brought their mum along… not a complete deal breaker but you’ll definitely be asking questions

Filling: 🥩

This is where we got back on track a bit, proper mince and decent gravy and well seasoned with none of that suspect jello-like business. This filling actually had plenty going for it, but unfortunately the thick sweaty pastry had put the filling into a hostage situation. There was heaps of potential in there but the pastry to filling ratio had the filling fighting for its life

Overall: 🏆

This one was a bit like getting that game you’ve been hanging out for on Christmas just to rip it open and it’s for the wrong console, f**k sakes mum! The goods were clearly there, the filling has heaps of potential , the lid was crisp and the girls working at the shop had unmatched 🔥ENERGY 🔥 but the pastry to filling ratio just wasn’t playing the game I wanted it to… that being said this was still a solid pie that’ll satisfy those smoko cravings, the girls were legends and the atmosphere was infectious, HEAPS to like about the place

Final Score: 6.4

Side note, this was a pepper pie we will be back for their plane meat 🥩
