This one was a little more special than most.
Happy 70th birthday to my mother-in-law, Di, who I’m incredibly lucky to have in my life.

I wanted her cake to actually mean something, so each little mosaic tile represents her and the incredible places her adventures have taken her over the years — from safari in Africa and the Amazon in Peru, to London and, especially, the Camino de Santiago, which she’s walked not once, but twice!

There are globes, compasses, suitcases and little pieces of her travels scattered throughout, all coming together to tell a bit of her story.

A pretty special cake for a pretty special 70th. ❤️

This little teddy cake was just too cute not to share!

I love how this one came together. The soft pink, little bows and those tiny teddy feet are so bloody cute.

Oreo flavour inside, and I got such a lovely message from my customer afterwards saying how much she loved it too. Those messages always make my day.

Definitely a favourite from the last few weeks!

POV: you’re transporting a cake and suddenly every pothole in Adelaide becomes a personal attack.

Non-slip mat down.

Cake secured.

Air con blasting.

Both hands on the wheel.

And me taking every corner at approximately 3km/h while whispering “don’t you bloody move.” 🤣🤣

Yesterday’s fridge was looking pretty good 👀

Four cakes, four completely different celebrations, all collected and off to their new homes.

Now we do it all over again.

Sometimes the brief is simply: add more lollies.

And I fully support that decision.

Vanilla cake, blue buttercream and enough gummy lollies to make your dentist nervous.

A little peek inside the cake fridge from the weekend.

There’s actually a whole system happening in here that customers don’t usually get to see.
Cakes are finished, chilled and stored safely, and as each collection heads out the door, that space becomes available for the next cake coming through.

It’s also why I work with set collection windows. Those times are built into my baking and decorating schedule and help keep everything moving when I’ve got multiple orders on the go.

Basically, there’s a lot more planning behind that little “collection between 9:30–10am” message than you’d probably think!

And apparently you guys love seeing inside my fridge, so here’s your latest instalment 😂
