BUSINESS UPDATE >>
Late last year I decided to put the business on hold while I settled into my new job. I have had a few messages from customers, asking when I was going to start baking again.
The truth is, I can't start baking again as I don't have the capacity to do it anymore, for a couple of different reasons. HOWEVER...read on to find out what I WILL be doing instead!
I have been interested in self-sufficiency for some time now and in recent years I have been learning about permaculture. Permaculture is broken down into 12 key principles and lately I have been trying to integrate these principles into my life. On of these principles is called "Fair Share".
"Fair Share" is all about passing on the surplus, only using what we need and participating in our community in a way that encourages equity. It can be as simple as sharing excess veggies from your garden with your work colleagues or teaching your neighbour how to prune their fruit trees. It's about not gatekeeping information for personal gain, but instead sharing resources, knowledge and skills.
In the spirit of Fair Share, I have decided not to continue selling sourdough bread. Instead, I would like to pass on the knowledge that I have so that others can learn to make their own bread. I would like to share some of my other skills and knowledge as well.
I invite you to sign up to my new Substack newsletter. This newsletter will be my new way of sharing recipes and information with those who wish to subscribe. I will be sending out my first newsletter soon. You can check it out via the link below.
