“Food is the ingredient that binds us together, when words are inadequate, food is symbolic of love”
When the world around me feels chaotic, I try to focus on the parts of my life that I can control. I find time for the things I have passion for & engage myself in hobbies that bring me joy.
From a young age, I’ve always had a strong love for cooking & all things food related. Chopping, mixing, stiring, baking; basically anything to do with the creating & enjoyment of food.
In all cultures, food is renowned for bringing people together. It is a universal language. The special milestone events in our lives are often celebrated with abundant spreads of delicious & delectable delights.
Food not only nourishes our bodies, but our souls, and whether it’s the taste of Mumma’s home cooking or your favourite dish at a 5 star restaurant, food ultimately brings us comfort.
Although we can’t visit one another in person right now, if you have the ability to do so, perhaps drop off a care package or create a meal for someone you know who is doing it tough. You’d be amazed at how the simplest of gestures can uplift someone’s spirit & remind them that they are never alone, even through the most difficult times.
It will hopefully encourage those who are struggling to care for themselves, to remain strong by fuelling their bodies with heartfelt & home cooked meals, prepared with love.
Look after yourself & one another. Nourish your heart & souls with good food & kind energy. Pay it forward. Help someone in need. Tough times never last, but tough people do, when we stick together.
