A LITTLE OF MYSELF:
My name is Heather Harvey and I was born in Keith—(many years ago) I married a local farmer and had two beautiful children—Chad Makin (now a farmer in Keith) and Georgina Makin (in Adelaide). ness was originally located at the corner of Makin & Hender Streets ’ Keith (opposite the Hotel) - I had been in this location for 9 years when the opportunity of my present location arose. I re-located to the corner of Makin & Heritage Streets (opposite the public toilets) in October 2011. The majority of my bakery items are produced at the Morning Loaf Bakehouse in Bordertown—you really should try one of the pies that ‘HAVE NEVER BEEN EATEN’. The main shop area consists of ‘OLDE’ WORLD CHARM’ and should you wish to have a taste of (or reminisce) then take yourself into the ‘RETRO ROOM or RETRO LOUNGE’. For those of you with a young family, please enjoy the ‘KIDZ BIZ PLAYROOM’ (great when too cold or wet for the park). TOURIST INFORMATION is also available in the main shop area. ALFRESCO is beautiful on a sunny day. FREE TEA & COFFEE —the only condition is that you make it yourself!! CARRIES COTTAGE (LOUNGE RETRO AREA)
This area is Heritage listed. The following research is taken from the TATIARA BOOK (the first 140 years) Carries Cottage was first opened in 1907 by Mr CS Wylie and known as ‘Wylies Up to Date Store’. In approx. 1918 Mr Clive Densley operated as a local agent for the SA Farmers Union and established his office in ‘Carries’. Mr Leo Seppelt began as a Shell agent on the frontage of the now (Retro Room) in about 1948. In the 1950s Mr William Langmaid commenced a garage (now the Retro Room, I believe) for use as a lubritorium, selling petrol, doing repairs and servicing of vehicles. At an unknown date, I would guess late 60s early 70s, the building I am in became a ‘FOUR SQUARE STORE’ operated by Cliff & Roma Davis. Anyone with knowledge of the earlier days of this building would be more than welcome to share.

Hi again everyone. Thought I would just remind you all that I am now stocking TASTY, FULL & BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED product from Jodie & Will from the Bordertown Bakery. Just a reminder that Morning Loaf is my TRADING NAME ONLY!!! I am an INDEPENDENT business owner. A great big THANKYOU to my loyal staff, FAMILY, TRUE friends AND last but not least, my great CUSTOMERS for standing by me and continuing to stand by me through some difficult times.

Alan and I love the Wellington Courthouse and business is growing wonderfully. Wellington is a beautiful spot and a great place to look forward to retiring (in many, many years lol)

My business in Keith is still on the market for anyone who may be interested, especially now with the knowledge that I am an independent. I have loved my time (nearly 16 years) growing my business in Keith but it is time to move on to another chapter in the book of life.

Hi every one, I just wanted to let my loyal customers of 15+ years, know that I have a new and exciting product at the Morning Loaf Keith. A great big thank you to Jodie & Will from the Bordertown Bakery for supplying me with such a beautifully presented and tasty product.
As an ‘Independent Owner’, although my trading name is ‘Morning Loaf Keith’ (at the present), I will no longer be stocking Wendy Davis + Nick Davis’s product from Morning Loaf Bordertown. As my loyal customers, I ask that you give my new product a try (I doubt you will be disappointed) but should you still prefer Morning Loaf Bordertown’s product, you can purchase it from the New Café under the Keith Bakery banner opposite the Hotel in Keith.

Hi there everyone. Today we are setting up for my pop up giftware shop in the Markeplace at Murray Bridge. I will be open for two weeks from Monday 17th, with lots of inspirational signs and such. Come on in and have a browse, be inspired or just have a good laugh. My pop up is called Say So Inspirations and pretty much opposite Big W. I have two bootiful men helping me get set up - my man Al and my nephew Bret. I'm very excited about this venture and would love to see you there. Hev

I also would like to let everyone know that I will be doing a POP-UP in the Marketplace at Murray Bridge from the 17th July until the 30th July - showcasing my inspirational giftware. It would be appreciated if all my friends could like and share this around. I have added a few photos to show people what to expect. The majority of my products have quotes written on them and I have added a couple of examples (some serious & some humourous) Sometimes you just can't find that right gift for someone but quite often, words can say it all. Hi everyone, sorry once again it's been a long time since I've been on here - time just seems to get away. For all you Footy Fans, we know have the top eight flags flying out the front of the shop - they get updated every Monday. So far the Crows and Port Power haven't been out of the top eight so let's hope it stays that way!!!

A ladies ring was handed in last week - it was left in the public toilets across the road. At the present, I have it in my keeping and I hope everyone will share this msg so we can hopefully find the rightful owner of the ring. Should you know who's ring this may be, please call Heather on 0417862084 - you will obviously need to describe the ring in detail before I release it. Should no one come forward in the next week or so, I will hand it in to the Police Station. While I am on the subject of rings, many years ago (approx 10 yrs) when I had my business on the other corner opposite the hotel (where Double A Diner is now) a lady left her rings on the bench of the female toilets in the outback. Since that time, they were handed into the police but never collected. As they are a beautiful set, of which I believe may have been an older womans, I would love to see them go back to their rightful owner or an heir. Once again they are very unique and will need to be described in full detail before I hand them over. We just spent the weekend in Sydney checking out the Reed Gift Fair. OMG, how exciting to see the various types of Inspirational Giftware on display. It was mind boggling to see so much in one place!! I have new stock coming in within the next week or so and I absolutely love it so I'm hoping that you will too. Don't forget that I also still have a half price sale on selected goods happening. If you're finding it hard to find a gift for the person 'that has everything', then come on in. Remember, it doesn't always have to say Birthday, Anniversary etc - it's about the meaning of the words!! While you're browsing, enjoy the relaxed surroundings of the waterfall or just relax on one of the lounges with a coffee (barista or self serve FREE Tea & Coffee) whilst enjoying the atmosphere. Hi everyone, well I am finally going to get some lessons on how to utilise this page (and facebook in general I hope) from one of my bootiful great nieces - Maddie O'toole. Maddie is going to come to Keith and help me in early December so hopefully you should start to see a lot more interesting things happening on my site. Meanwhile, don't forget to pop in and have a yummy lunch, rest and relax in the R Room whilst browsing the Inspirational Giftware, check out the Retro Room and play a song on the Jukebox, browse the old wares in Carries Cottage or if you need your children to let loose a little - Kidz Biz playroom. Hi everyone, unfortunately I still don't get on this page enough but it will happen - "one day". Remember Morning Loaf is open EVERY day of the year except christmas day. With the long weekend ahead please take care travelling and remember you are better to get wherever you are going late than NEVER.
