When I started my little hobby doing cake baking + decorating, I never imagined it would have went as well as it did. I only started because I had a love for baking and decorating and wanted to fill in some spare time. My daughter was 9 months old when I made my first cake for somebody's event...
I started off doing cakes for extended family and friends, which led to complete strangers ordering cakes from me for their loved ones birthdays, engagements and weddings...
The feedback I received, hearing people rave about my cakes and how good they tasted was so fulfilling...
Fast forward in time, with my daughter who will be turning 4 in April and my son who is 14 months old, busier than ever!! I feel like I cannot spare the same time to put into my cakes as I once did. I feel guilty for telling them that I will play with them once I am finished. And I feel like my focus cannot be fully on the cakes which results in some stress...
Due to wanting to prioritise that tiny amount of 'free time' with my children, not to mention the cost of ingredients these days (sometimes not even worth it $ reasons), I have decided to step away from Adorn Cake Creations...
Who knows if I'll return; I'm sure once the kids get a bit older I will be onto something familiar or even something new knowing me...
But I want to thank all my past customers, and family and friends who have asked me to be a part of their special celebration in the form of cake time and time again. Oh and those few cakes I already have booked in of course will still be going ahead and getting made don't you worry.
