Karalee Playgroup Karalee playgroup is a parent led weekly community event where children 0-5 years old can play. This page is to engage with those interested in joining.

See the 'About' tab in the left hand margin for more information. Karalee Playgroup provides families the opportunity to meet and build lifelong friendships. It is a wonderful place for children (and parents!) and currently has spaces available. The Playgroup is open to all families with children 0-5 years. Sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during school terms from 9.30-11.30am at

the Rob Thompson Community Hall on Harold Summervilles Road. Karalee Playgroup is affiliated with Play Matters (formerly known as Playgroup Queensland), which provides insurance coverage, member support and guidance. We are run as not for profit and rely on parent volunteers as our Facilitators. We try to keep this as a low cost activity so we can maximise play experiences for the children. We charge $3 for one session a week and $5 for both sessions, there is no obligation to attend and you only pay when you attend. Membership of Play Matters is required after the first two sessions to ensure all attendees are covered for insurance purposes. This is FREE for all families and allows you to access all Play Matters affiliated playgroups! Families are encouraged to bring along morning tea for their children and to dress children in play clothes as some activities can be a bit messy. We have complimentary tea and coffee for parents and usually biscuits as well as a treat for all. Playgroup allows children to engage with other children, parents and carers in a safe and secure environment. We have an extremely versatile and well resourced space including sandpit, swings and play structure. We have loads of outdoor play equipment and toys to encourage movement and balance. Plus we always try to make sure that we incorporate craft or sensory play regularly into our sessions as they are always popular! We have a large inside area plus an undercover area so it is very versatile even in wet weather to provide a number or play spaces for the children. Karalee is a parent led Playgroup so everyone is encouraged to get involved with set up and tidy up and to share their ideas. 🦋 Karalee Butterflies Playgroup – Rummage Sale Stalls Now Open! 🦋

It’s time to declutter, cash in, and be part of a fun community morning. Our Rummage Sale is happening on Sunday 30th August, 9:00am–11:30am, and stall bookings are now open for Playgroup members.

Stall Options:

$10 – 2x2m picnic blanket space (set up on the ground)

$5 – 1m² benchtop space on a shared table

Attendance is open to the general public with a gold coin donation for entry, so it’s a great chance to rehome your pre‑loved treasures.

Perfect items to sell:
Clothing, toys, bric‑a‑brac, craft supplies, games and more — if it’s in good condition, someone will love it.

All funds raised go straight back into Playgroup resources and activities, helping us keep creating wonderful experiences for our little ones.

Today we decorated a large roll of paper with markers, paints, stickers and stamps. Fun for toddlers to 4yos!
