Growing up, one of my aunts (who happens to be an amazing baker) gave me an opportunity to learn her art and shared with me her buttercream recipe (the same one that we now share with you!). I was almost 9 years old and felt that I had discovered the best thing since sliced bread. Ever since I can remember, I have loved anything sweet. I was that kid that would stop in front of a bakery or patisse
rie to admire the cakes and pastries, instead of running into the toy shop a few doors down. I was always happy to admire and eat all the goodies at every opportunity; birthdays, family gatherings, special events, quick cafe visits - you name it, but never really keen on creating (surprise, surprise, I was totally happy doing just the eating). I was never a fan of fondant and at times found it difficult to find the right buttercream cake or cupcake. Despite my avid appreciation of buttercream, it wasn't until recently that I started to actually take the time to practice creating. I'm so fortunate to be able to do something I love so dearly and love even more that I can use it to help the community and give back in anyway that I can. This is why The Buttercream Baker was established. A portion of our quarterly sales is donated to a charity of your choice, however if you do not have a specific charity in mind, we donate to the PKU NSW Foundation. As we are Sydney based bakery, all our donations are given to local charities and foundations. We're so glad you stumbled across our little bakery and we really hope you choose us for your special event! The more cupcakes and cakes we bake, the more we give back and none of it would be possible without your contribution. Thanks for considering us!
