We are incredibly proud to announce that we’ve brought home 7 medals from The Official Great Aussie Pie Competition!

🥇 GOLD
• Chunky Meat Pie
• Beef Pastie
• Beef Sausage Roll

🥈 SILVER
• Minced Beef Pie
• Jalapeño & Three Cheese Sausage Roll
• Chicken, Apple & Caramelised Onion Pie
• Chicken, Chorizo & Smoked Paprika Pie

And perhaps what makes this achievement even more special — three of our Silver medal-winning creations were made by our apprentices. ❤️

The Jalapeño & Three Cheese Sausage Roll, Chicken, Apple & Caramelised Onion Pie, and Chicken, Chorizo & Smoked Paprika Pie were all apprentice creations — keep an eye out as we are planning to drop these into the bakery for you to try!

To see the next generation of pastry cooks putting their own ideas, creativity and skills into the competition — and being recognised with Silver — is something we couldn’t be prouder of.

The Great Aussie Pie Competition has been celebrating Australia’s love of pies and sausage rolls since 1989, setting an industry benchmark for excellence in the art of pie making.

A massive congratulations to our incredible pastry team — and especially our apprentices. What an achievement! 👏🏼💗

What an incredible day! Together, our bakery community has raised $1,308 for the Cherished Pets Foundation. 🐶🐱💛

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Porter Avenue Pies & Cakes team for getting behind today’s fundraiser, and to every single customer who walked through our doors, purchased a pie or vanilla slice, donated, shared our posts or simply helped spread the word.

Every purchase mattered — and together, you made a difference.

Cherished Pets provides something incredibly important: helping vulnerable people keep the pets they love by their side during times of hardship, illness, ageing or crisis. For many people, a pet is far more than an animal — they are family, companionship, comfort, routine and sometimes their strongest connection during life’s most difficult moments.

Supporting Cherished Pets means supporting both ends of the leash. 🐾❤️

As a small family business, being able to use what we do every day — making pies and cakes — to give back to organisations doing meaningful work in our community is something we are incredibly grateful for.

$1,308 raised in one day. One bakery. One community. A whole lot of kindness.
