Hi all I have started a new chapter in life's journey. I'm still doing a bit of catering and cakes but I now want to share my love of good wholefood with other people to help them with healthier lifestyle.
If you can please like and share.π
Let me introduce myself and give some background on me.My name is Shannon Fraser-Butler, I was born & brought up in the south west of Western Australia. I started my apprenticeship as chef in Bunbury but soon moved to Perth to finish my apprenticeship at Matilda Bay where I got to work with amazing local, fresh produce. I then moved to the UK where my love for farm to plate developed, working in a rural area on the tail end of Mad cows disease farmers &restaurants were doing things differently to what I had done before. It was where the my understanding of we need to know where & how our food comes from, but also how using seasonal foods to the fullest. After nearly 5 years I met my now Australian husband & we came back. On coming back I worked up in Perth where I met Jude Blereau who was launching a book called Wholefood cooking and my journey started with a different style of cooking but with the same basics of real food, cooking seasonal, knowing your farmers & how your food was grown & cooking from scratch. Luke & I then moved to the beautiful Blackwood with a baby on the way as I didn't want to bring my children up in the city. We believe it takes a village to raise a child & growing up in the country I felt I needed to go back. Being both chefs we picked up work at the pub. But pub life doesn't fit in with a young family. After our second child I had a brain wave to open a cafe in Greenbushes. It was a hard slog but it gave us great work life balance we got to work with our beautiful community to build something that people travelled from everywhere for our food. We worked with local farmers & businesses. We were part of the fabric of the community in lots different groups. After 12 good year's it was time to close that chapter of our life. We still worked in the Blackwood for 2 years. Our kid's needed different needs & that has brought us to Australind for the next chapter of life. With this I needed change as after 30 years in the kitchen my love of food is still alive, but the kitchen doesn't love my body. So I embarked on a new journey hitting the books and studying nutrition. With love of good food & well-being I want to help people with healthy habits.
