hi everybody,
after many months of reflection, i have decided to close BVKED. this has been a tough decision because i haven’t wanted to disappoint my loyal customers who have been coming to me for years for vegan and allergy friendly cakes. all current bookings will still go ahead, don’t worry! i will be accepting a limited number of new orders between now and the 11th of november so if you have any special occasions in the next few months, please email me know as soon as possible.
i’m really proud of the business i’ve created while staying true to my values. i hope i have helped open some minds to the fact that vegan food can be delicious and satisfying, that was the driving force behind starting the business back in 2014. there have been good times and hard times, running a business alone is definitely a challenge especially while trying to manage a chronic illness and anxiety.
the volunteer work i have been doing in animal shelters for the past 18 months has become a very meaningful part of my life and i have decided to pursue a career working with animals in need. i am currently undertaking a certificate iv in animal behaviour and training, i’m not sure where it will take me yet but i’m excited for the journey.
to my customers: thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special occasions over the years, it has been a true privilege.
to my friends and family (especially Ian Peres and my parents): thank you for all of your support and encouragement throughout the lifespan of BVKED - from being my unofficial quality control officers in the beginning, for being understanding when i had used up all my spoons and wasn’t able to spend as much time with you as i would’ve liked and recently for supporting my decision to move on from the business.
