FROM A CONVERSATION IN THE UK… TO THE COUNTER IN GLENREAGH. 🇬🇧➡️🇦🇺🥧

It all started when a lovely gent we met on our UK travels suggested green peppercorn sauce. 🌿

We brought the idea home, our chefs got their heads together… and it became:

🥩 Braised steak
🌿 Green peppercorn sauce
🫛 Mushy peas
🥔 Our signature mash

And judging by how many disappeared on Friday, you lot weren’t afraid to give our little UK-inspired experiment a crack. 😂👏

✨ SATURDAY’S LOOKING GLORIOUS ✨

The cabinets are loaded, the sourdough is stacked and there are some seriously good reasons to get yourself to Glenreagh this morning… 👀🥐

🍌 Sticky banana, date & apple custard Danish
🍿 GF Devil’s Food Cake with caramelised popcorn cream & peanut popcorn
💛 Vanilla bean cheesecake with passionfruit mascarpone & fresh berries
🧀 Cranberry, Brie & walnut sourdough
🌻 Super seedy sourdough
🍆 Eggplant, cauliflower & za’atar focaccia
🍅 Capsicum, tomato & sweet potato focaccia

Sweet? Savoury? Bread? Why choose? 😏

One little suggestion. One very busy bakery brain. 😂🥧

While travelling around the UK, we met a lovely gent who suggested we try something with green peppercorn sauce. 🇬🇧

And apparently that was all the encouragement Brooke needed.

The idea came home to Glenreagh, the notebook came out, and somewhere along the way green peppercorn sauce became…

And this absolute beauty was born. 🤤

We LOVE that a little conversation on the other side of the world has made its way all the way back into our tiny country bakery. 💚

SATURDAY at Glenreagh Bakery 🤤🥐

Well… the crew have clearly decided subtlety isn’t on the menu this morning. 😂

The cabinet and shelves are loaded with some absolute beauties, including:

🥐 Reuben savoury croissants — corned beef, sauerkraut, pickles, béchamel & cheese
🍞 Focaccia — roast eggplant, zucchini & za’atar; roast sweet potato, blistered tomato & capsicum; plus everything bagel seasoning
🥖 Sourdough — caraway & linseed or toasted macadamia & cranberry
🍫 Hazelnut financiers (GF) with chocolate Chantilly cream & caramel
✨ Dubai Swiss roll — milk chocolate ganache, pistachio, meringue & kataifi

Basically, choosing just one is going to be your biggest problem this Saturday morning. 😏

What a day! 🌲🤎

We’re still buzzing after such an incredible Timberfest!

To everyone who stopped by our stall and treated yourself to something delicious – whether it was a loaded Turkish, mini focaccia, scroll, Danish or one of our Timberfest special baked hazelnut chocolate slice cakes – thank you. Whether you came specifically to see us or simply stumbled across our little corner of the festival, we’re so grateful for every single person who chose to support us.

A day like yesterday doesn’t happen by accident.

To our incredible bakery crew – thank you for the early mornings, the late finishes, the baking, prepping, packing, setting up and serving with smiles all day long. The love and care you put into every product is what makes Glenreagh Bakery so special, and we’re incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team.

And to the organisers, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to bring Glenreagh Timberfest to life… thank you for creating such a fantastic event for our community. So much work goes into making a day like this happen, and it was a privilege to be part of it.

We’re looking back on an unforgettable weekend with full hearts and so much gratitude. Thank you for supporting local businesses, celebrating our community and helping make Timberfest such a wonderful success.
