Finally, close up pics of Selena's 1st birthday/baptism cake.
I contemplated writing this, but wanted to share part of my private experience.

This one was special to me as Ive wanted to make a drapping cake for so long, but have never been asked. So naturally I was so excited and wanted it to be perfect. Although the base was buttercream and not fondant I tried my hardest getting the two to match... and it was perfect. More white then the fondant was.
That morning I wasn't feeling at all confident in the design and quite stressed.....but I proceeded to create as it had to be done.
I had a few cakes and treats that weekend and this one was my last on Friday night. I finished off quite late. No matter how I felt whilst creating this one, everything was absolutely perfect and my confidence was flowing back without me even noticing. This is just proof that HE is nearby even when you're unaware. Giving you the strength when needed.
A few hours later my family suffered a great loss. The death of my brother law. This was what I woke up to at the crack of dawn.
Even though at the time I didnt realise it....that strength stayed with me through that entire time...to bring strength to my husband and be there for him!
Its funny how life and death are so easily entwined with one another. Something that i think is beyond our understanding.
