Gin Gin Scout Group

This week was our last Scouts session for 2023 and for an unknown amount of time. Our Cubs and Joeys had a fun last days full of games and party food, plus received most of the badges they have been working on this last term. There is a few still owing due to the Christmas postal rush and those will be mailed out when they arrive, very soon I have heard. Now we are closed until further notice. This is unfortunate, but with our low Youth numbers and lack of Volunteers for Leadership, we just can't keep going here in Gin Gin right now. Some of our Youth will be moving onto other Groups within our District, as will our 2 Leaders. THANKYOU to all our supporters, members, support committee and all the businesses and community groups who have stood behind us, helped us out and worked with us over the years. Your efforts have been very much appreciated and we wouldn't have managed to keep running as long as we have without you. Hopefully the closure is only for a very short period of time and we can reopen bigger and better. For now, I'm going to not say goodbye, but we will say See You Later, have an awesome holidays and stay safe.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for 100th Anniversary Celebration yesterday. Your support is very much appreciated. It was awesome to see and meet past members including youth, Leaders, and support committee parents, as well as our current members, Councillors Tracey McPhee, May Mitchell and Mayor Jack Dempsey, community members and members of other Scout Groups from our District there.

It was nice to catch up with Colin Boyce to show him around our Den and chat about our Scouts and plans for the Grounds.

Colin has donated funds to help us with our 100th anniversary coming up on November 4th. Make sure you mark that date on your calendar: November 4th, 12pm at the Youth Centre. Come and help us celebrate.

Caught up with Tammy from Gin Gin Scout Group who was able to show me around the facility and talk all things scouting!

I was also pleased to support their 100 years of scouting event that’s happening in November.

We are back this afternoon for Term 4. Cubs, Joeys and Scouts 4:30 to 6 today.
Pop down and see us for your 2 free come and try sessions. Remember sun safe shirts, covered shoes and full water bottle.

Scouting in the school holidays? Of course. 1 cub, 2 leaders and a Venturer off to Cuboree 23 at Maryborough today. 6 days of Cub Scout fun. This camp occurs every 2 years for Qld Cubs.

Sausages are cooking nicely, our volunteers are working hard, and our Cub is wanting to sell all his home made lemonade. Come on down to the middle of town and grab your sausage on bread and a drink.
