Traffic Alert – Alexandra

A serious accident has occurred at the intersection of Goulburn Valley Highway and Maroondah Highway in Alexandra. Traffic diversions are currently in place and are expected to remain until at least 8.00 pm tonight.

Council has been working closely with the Department of Transport and Victoria Police. The road closures and diversion routes have been put in place at the direction of the Department of Transport.

Diversions are in place via:
• Green Street, William Street and Station Street (for traffic from Eildon/Yea)
• Bailey Street, Nihil Street and Wattle Street (for traffic from Buxton/Marysville)

Local schools have been advised and alternative bus routes are in place.

If you’re travelling in the area this afternoon or evening, please:
• Allow extra travel time
• Follow all traffic management directions
• Drive carefully and stay alert
