Pistachio and lemon cake will always be my favourite cake to make. If you want to give this one a go you can find the recipe in Momufuku Milk Bar book
Layers and layers of 'moist' pistachio sponge (I'm sorry, there's just no other word I can possibly use to describe this cake), lemon curd, pistachio frosting and crunchy white chocolate milk crumbs.
I've decorated this one with some candied lemon slices, which, might I add that they look fantastic and I love them for this cake, but lemon pith tastes like lemon pith even when its caramalised in sugar. Nice to look at but maybe just as a garnish, not to eat.

Operation Save the Brownie!

Compost brownie boxes are back this week. Only $10 a box.

After making 144 brownie bases for our Macarownies we are left with just under 1kg of brownie offcuts. Today I've turned them into Pistachio and raspberry brownie slice and coconut rolled truffles. They are so good!! Please save me from eating them all to myself.

Warning! Dubai chocolate is dangerous!

And I'm not kidding.

This chocolate is next level delicious, but it's important to consider portion control when devouring it.
I'm not going to lie, I am guilty of polishing off a whole block just to myself. And with the popular social media trends around eating this style of chocolate, it kind of makes it feel like that is the only way you are meant to eat it.
But with an entire block of ours totalling 1353 calories and 85g of fat, I think it's important to be mindful of what we are putting into our bodies with each bite.

The good news is, each 20g serving (2 pieces) is 113 calories with 7g of fat which is a perfect number for my after dinner indulgence or my 3pm pick me up snack!

These raspberry macarons are bursting with flavour. Filled with raspberry ganache, freeze dried raspberries and raspberry paté de fruit. $3.00 each or 6 for $15

We also have chocolate macarons on the menu this week. Filled with slightly salted 80% dark chocolate ganache and dipped in milk coverture. So good!! $3.00 each or 6 for $15

I've been looking for pure Yuzu juice for a while. I finally came across some today at the Asian grocer. So of course I had to make some macarons!
The distinct tangy Yuzu filling is balanced with deliciously smooth pistachio cream.
