And this glorious was made by Julia. We used the cutters (and some extras), making the berry shape into gumnut flowers, the Christmas mini bauble shape for the large gumnut, and the large mistletoe leaf cutter as a eucalyptus flowering gum branch. Julia was so thrilled with what you can do with just a few dabs of royal icing and a tipless bag! Amazing beginner cookies, Julia!!

I had my old school friends over in the leadup to Chris and made cookies with them. They are so thrilled with their creations! Here is the Santa by Moira! She loved the shimmer dust and shimmered EVERYTHING!

Unfortunately I am not baking or decorating at the moment, due to my mother's illness. I am acting as her full-time carer while she tackles dementia. I anticipate being able to take up cookie decorating again later in 2022. I'll keep you posted!

It’s a pandemic paradox, isn’t it, that we can be simultaneously really busy AND have seemingly endless time AND somehow be getting nothing done? Yeah, THAT!

That’s been my six months - SIX MONTHS!?

I’m ashamed! I actually made quite a few sets of cookies over this strange year, up until I took a break for youngest to sit his HSC, and got back into it for a week... and then I injured my neck and shoulder and now I’m banned from the rolling pin AND the piping bags!

😫😳🤕🙄🙃

At least, now I can’t do much, I can get myself organised to post all the pictures of the cookies I’ve made in the crazy year that has been, and I somehow haven’t prioritised, and first cab off the rank HAS to be these cute-as 2020 Graduate Emoji cookies I made for a customer!

Hold on tight, everyone, not too far to go now and we can all have a good old go at stuffing up 2021 as well...

These adorable mermaids are so clever! The original design is by a US cookier titled Miss Doughmestic and it uses a princess-in-a-ball-gown cookie cutter, which you adapt to a mermaid-sitting-on-a-rock!
Genius!
And especially useful when your cookie might be in situations where her very fragile cookie tail could snap in a kid’s lolly bag!

Nearly Hallowe’en again, folks, and time for my annual favourite thing - making a Gingerbread House for my family.

This year I was inspired by two most disparate original source materials - Hagrid’s Hut and Candy Corns... pretty hard to imagine two things with less to do with each other, except maybe, Hallowe’en!

And the most scary thing about it is that it is gluten free. Usually gluten free sugar cookies are a bit more brittle than regular ones, but with Gingerbread it’s much less an issue, so that’s a big seasonal bonus in my house!

Happy Hallowe’en and hope your trick or treaters are super cute & funny and you get to meet your neighbours which is definitely the best part of this time of year!
