Hi everyone! It's been a hot minute since I posted anything on my social media page. Let me start off with wishing everyone a very belated happy new year!! ( I know I'm so late to the party 🤭)

I've decided to take a bit of a break from caking and haven't been taking any orders. When I got back into the swing of things 6 months after having my baby girl, I got super busy instantly. Every weekend was filled with orders and while I was loving it, I realized I was always planning- planning my baking around sleep, baking around school drop offs and pickups, planning cake pickups around weekend schedules. Even in my down time I was always thinking what needed to happen 5-7 days ahead (so that I'm organized) and I had less time to tend to my kids. I have also been solo parenting for the last few months while hubby is working away and will be for the coming months so doing everything on my own was causing burnout and leaving me no time for myself.

Baking is my escape and relaxation time but it wasn't giving me the same joy anymore. So I have decided to take a break and will start taking orders again in a few months time.

What have I been doing instead?

I have spent a lot of time with my kiddies, gone away on impromptu holidays, gone on lots and lots of day trips, catching up with my friends, I've made impromptu decisions to go to the beach (which was impossible before as I always had cake orders, especially Wed- Fri) and best of all, I've had time to do things for myself 🥰

I'll check in every now and then, but for now, I've put my baking tools away, except for next month when baby girl is turning the big 1!

Sometimes this is the extent of a "great" (read as crappy) photo I get of the cakes I make. So many of my cakes make it out the door without a photo cause I have literally no time to even take a decent photo of them 🙄

I took this photo at 10pm at night on top of the freezer cause I was too tired to do my usual photo set up 😆

The past few weeks/ months have been so chaotic, I've completed cakes down to the half an hour before pick up 🫣 🫣 Throw in solo parenting while the hubby travels for work, school pickups and drop offs, an energetic puppy ( read as a puppy who looks like a adult German Shepherd), the usual housework and a baby who picked the perfect timing for a sleep regression, it's definitely a recipe for mayhem.

Why am I telling you all this? To be 100% transparent, that behind all the pretty photos, there's a lot of hard work involved and a lot of late nights and I may not always show up online but I'm definitely here ☺️ But the one thing that never changes is the quality of cakes which go out my door- every single one of them has a 100% passion and love in them!

So enjoy yet another pink cake ( I promise I never influence my clients about cake colours but it's great when things work out in my favour haha 💕💕)

I've had a whole heap of new followers recently so even though I don't pop on here very often, I just wanted to welcome you to my page and thank you for following me 💕.

With every cake I design, my goal is to bring joy and happiness to every celebration. I've been decorating cakes for just over 5 years now and all my creations on my page are 100% self taught through countless trial and errors.

To my amazing existing followers, thank you for being a part of this incredible journey with me. Your support, encouragement, and unwavering love for my cake creations have fueled my passion and inspired me to push my artistic boundaries.

As a result and after much reflection I have realized that I love channeling my own ideas and unleashing the boundless creativity that lies within me rather than being confined to "a cake which looks similar to xyz". So when booking your next cake, tell me all about your themes, your colour palette, or elements you will love on your cake and let me do the rest 😊
