Once Upon a Princess… because apparently turning ONE now requires a castle, a crown and an entire royal kingdom! 👑😂

Jasmin's first birthday brought plenty of princess styling to the studio with our Once Upon a Princess Cake Smash theme! 👑🎂

Think lavender castle towers, gorgeous purple florals, gold crowns, pretty pink details and a birthday cake fit for royalty. 🌸✨🎀

Jasmin looked lovely in her white tutu as we captured some first birthday portraits, followed by a little cake tasting amongst all the royal decorations. 🍰💕

I certainly don't do things by halves when it comes to decorating a cake smash setup. Apparently, building a miniature princess kingdom is perfectly reasonable. 😂👑

FLOWERS, BUTTERFLIES AND A FIRST BIRTHDAY… BASICALLY A GARDEN PARTY WITH ZERO TABLE MANNERS! 🌸🦋😂

Miss Elora brought the adorable factor to a whole new level for her Butterfly Floral Cake Smash session, surrounded by beautiful pink blossoms, fluttering butterfly decorations and enough pretty details to make a florist jealous! 💗🌷✨

Dressed in her gorgeous pink outfit and floral headband, Elora gave us the sweetest little smiles, some very serious cake inspections and plenty of those big-eyed expressions that make photographing this age so much fun. 📸🥰

Then came the cake. 🎂

A few little tastes quickly turned into icing-covered fingers, cake scattered across the floor and a very enthusiastic approach to dismantling a perfectly good dessert. 🍰😂

Naturally, we finished with a bathtub splash, because apparently cake crumbs make excellent bath accessories! 🛁💦

16 years photographing little birthday legends and I still find it hilarious how quickly a beautiful setup can turn into a bakery crime scene.

Wouldn't change a thing! 💕

Nothing says “welcome to the family” quite like a big sister getting promoted to management. 😂🤍

Beautiful little Hamadaan came into the studio for his newborn session, with big sister Ilyana joining him for some seriously sweet sibling photos.

And honestly, these two together? Ridiculous. 🥹

Tiny newborn snuggles, those gorgeous little details you wish you could freeze forever, and a very proud big sister right there beside him.

Because newborn photos are beautiful on their own… but adding an older sibling into the mix brings a whole different kind of magic. And approximately 47% more unpredictability. 😂

Welcome to the world, Hamadaan. 🤍

🎀 WHEN YOUR BALLOON ARCH HAS A BOW BIGGER THAN THE BIRTHDAY GIRL, YOU KNOW WE’VE COMMITTED. 😂

Amelia’s Pink Balloon Arch Cake Smash was pink, polished and gloriously over the top. Soft blush balloons climbed around the arches, gold added just enough sparkle, giant paper flowers filled the floor and that massive pink bow sat proudly on top of the whole situation. 🎈✨🌸🩷

Then Amelia arrived in layers of pink tulle and somehow made the entire setup look even cuter. She sat amongst the balloons, flashed huge smiles, waved her spoon around and pulled the kind of scrunched-up expressions that make my camera earn its keep. 😂📸

The beautiful pink cake survived briefly. Very briefly. 🎂🍰 Amelia dug straight in, spread icing across her hands, sampled the evidence and finished with a foot planted directly into the cake.

🙌🏻 Honestly, why limit yourself to fingers?

Elegant first-birthday styling followed by complete cake carnage. 🎉 That is precisely the ridiculous little combination I’m here for.

🍪 ONE SWEET COOKIE… AND APPROXIMATELY 47 COOKIES THAT WERE NEVER GOING TO SURVIVE THIS SESSION. 😂

Khalil rolled into his One Sweet Cookie Cake Smash surrounded by baby blue clouds, giant ONE lights, fluffy white details and cookie jars everywhere. ☁️🍪💙

He started off sitting like an absolute professional, flashed that huge smile for the camera and even threw in some impressive foot-in-the-air posing. 👏🏻😂 Then came the important part: cake destruction.

Hands went in, crumbs went flying and before long Khalil was crawling around with buttercream on his face while chunks of cake were scattered across the floor. 🍰🙌🏻 Exactly the level of birthday chaos I expect around here.

Beautiful styling, gorgeous baby, perfectly coordinated cake… followed by complete demolition. 🎉📸

Frankly, that is why Cake Smash photography will forever be one of my favourite jobs. The clean-up crew may disagree. 😏
