When you first float the idea of opening a business, people tell you it's about providing a service to a community and the possibility of making some money. What they don't tell you about is the relationships you make along the way. The staff that become family, the customers who become friends, the community groups, schools, events and sporting teams you can sponsor and donate to.

You become part of a community and the community becomes part of you.

What a ride the last 22 years have been. For the majority of our time, we've loved every twist and turn.

When we first decided to sell, we could only dream that someone would come in and keep the bakery legacy alive. Our chapters in the bakery story are now ended, but the new chapters in the story are pretty exciting. I've read a few pages ahead and you're in for a treat.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Clarence Town. You embraced us from the beginning and although we're sad to leave I think the man who hasn't slept since 1985 is in need of a well earned rest.

Here Ye, Here Ye!!!! The end is nigh.

Danny is hanging up his apron and retiring from baking.

This Friday at 7.30pm, we'll be closing our doors for the last time.

After 22 years, it's a bittersweet feeling, but new adventures await.

We haven't been keeping a secret, the bakery has been sold. Everything should be official this week.

After 22 years, it's time for Danny to hang up his apron and have a good long sleep.

We've loved every minute of owning our little bakery, but it's time to move on and spend more time with our growing family.

We'll still be open until the end of the month and then it's time to hand it over to our new owners. It's time for our story to end and for theirs to start.

I've got a bit more to say, but will post again when the tears stop flowing.

We hope to see you all over the next couple of weeks

Exciting news.

Essential energy has just cancelled the power outage.

We're open until 2pm

The power outage is going ahead Thursday 15th from approx 9am.

We'll be open until the power shuts down, so get in early to get your goodies. See you bright and early Thursday. Open from 6am
