Stop reaching for chemicals first. 🚫🧴

One of the fastest ways to damage a surface is to keep applying stronger products when they aren’t actually needed.

For everyday maintenance, we always start simple:

💧 Wet microfibre cloth
✨ Wipe the surface clean
🧽 Finish with a SHYN Drying Cloth

This customer had been fighting with these cupboards for 2 months — streaks, marks and constant frustration.

The fix took a couple of minutes.

No harsh chemical. No scrubbing. No complicated method.

Plantation shutters near a BBQ area = built-up oil + grime 👀

We first tried a soaking wet Magic Eraser, but the oily build-up needed more.

So we stepped up the method with SHYN Degreaser + Magic Eraser - and within 2 wipes, the grime started lifting.

SHYN Degreaser is a detergent-based cleaner designed to help break down greasy build-up. We wouldn’t recommend grabbing just any strong degreaser for plantation shutters, as harsher products may affect certain finishes.

The right product + the right method = less scrubbing and a much easier clean 💙

Porous / matte ceramic and porcelain tiles are some of the most misunderstood floors to clean.

I’ve seen people think their tiles are permanently stained, damaged or need replacing — when in reality, they’ve just never been cleaned with the right method.

This is our SHYN floor reset:

🧽 Apply SHYN Degreaser using the floor tool
✨ Agitate the built-up grime with the Magic Eraser Floor Tool
💦 Remove all product + dirty residue with a clean microfibre mop

The difference is INSANE.

If your matte tiles always look dirty no matter how many times you mop them… your mop might not actually be reaching the build-up.

Travertine floors? Yes — but there’s one BIG thing you need to know

We had a few people ask whether the same method from yesterday’s video — SHYN Degreaser + our Magic Eraser Floor Tool — can be used on travertine floors.

The answer is yes, but you need to be much more careful.

Travertine is a natural stone and is commonly sealed. The problem is, you usually don’t know how thick that sealer is, how old it is, or what condition it’s in.

Our Magic Eraser works through agitation, so if you continuously scrub the same area, you can potentially start wearing through the protective sealer.

Our recommendation:

✨ Always test a small, hidden section first.
✨ Work in small sections at a time.
✨ Use light pressure — don’t aggressively scrub.
✨ Once the grime has released, stop.
✨ Remove all product residue with a clean, wet microfibre mop.

The goal is to remove the grime, not keep scrubbing once the surface is clean.

Travertine can come up absolutely beautiful — it just needs a little more care than standard tiles. 🤍

He thought he needed to REPLACE these tiles… 😳

He’d been trying to clean them for months and couldn’t get the built-up grime off.

Then we showed him what was actually possible. 👀

For this floor we used:

✨ SHYN Degreaser – spray over the area
✨ Magic Eraser Floor Tool – agitate the surface and lift the built-up grime
✨ Wet Microfibre Mop – remove all the dirty residue left behind

Spray → Agitate → Remove the residue.

And THAT is why understanding the right cleaning process matters.

Before you spend thousands replacing something because you think it’s ruined… sometimes it just needs the right products, tools and technique.
