🍪🌈 A little behind-the-scenes baking magic! 💕

I’ve been a busy little bee getting everything ready for a very special cookie decorating activity with the wonderful children at Modbury Kindergarten! 🥹

Lots of sugar cookies have been baked, colourful icing mixed, sprinkles sorted and little decorating kits packed, ready for some seriously sweet creativity! 🎨✨

As a mum, it’s extra special being able to bring a little piece of Baked Impressions into kindy and share something I love with the children.

And because I couldn’t resist, I’ve put together some little take-home goodies for the families too! Hopefully, they’ll inspire a few more baking adventures at home! 🧁

One of my favourite things about baking is that it brings people together, encourages creativity and gives little hands the chance to make something they’re really proud of (even if half the icing ends up in their mouths! 😂).

I love gender reveal cakes because there’s so much excitement wrapped up in that one little moment — family and friends gathered together, everyone making their guesses, and one very important slice of cake waiting to share the news. 🥹

This one kept things soft and simple on the outside with pastel pinks, blues and a touch of gold… while the real surprise was waiting inside. 🎂💕

These Blue’s Clues cupcakes are such a fun way to bring a favourite character into a little one’s celebration — bright blue swirls, paw prints, sprinkles and Blue herself making the whole box extra playful.

Children’s parties are my favourite excuse to go all-in on the things they’re currently obsessed with. Whether it’s Blue’s Clues, Bluey, Paw Patrol, dinosaurs, princesses, Lego, superheroes, farm animals or something completely different, cupcakes can be customised to match the theme and make the dessert table feel extra special. ✨

Because when you’re little, seeing your favourite character on a cupcake is basically peak birthday magic. 😂💙

There’s something so special about a room full of women coming together to celebrate love, friendship and a whole new chapter. 🥂💍🌸

The laughs, the stories, the slightly questionable advice 😂, the happy tears, the photos… bridal celebrations are really just one big excuse to surround someone you love with her favourite people and remind her how incredibly loved she is.

And obviously, there should be cake. 🎂✨

I absolutely adored this soft, earthy baby shower set — teddy bears, tiny elephants, rattles, bottles, building blocks and those little sunflower details bringing everything together.

The sage green, warm yellow, caramel and soft grey palette made this one feel playful and sweet without being overly traditional… and honestly, baby-themed cookies may be some of the cutest to make. 🥹

A little flashback to August 2023 and one of those cakes I still remember so fondly! 🧡🏡🎂

This one was created to celebrate 10 years of Smith Partners Real Estate, complete with their branding and handmade fondant versions of business owners Ryan and Corina — ch*****ne in hand, obviously. 🥂😂

Corporate cakes don’t have to be all logos and straight lines. I love adding the little personal details that celebrate the people behind the business and tell a bit of their story too.

There’s also something extra special about local businesses supporting other local businesses. Behind every small business are real people, families, late nights, big ideas and a whole lot of hard work — so being trusted to create something for a milestone like a 10-year anniversary is pretty lovely. 🥹

The teachers and educators who encourage the shy ones, challenge the curious ones, celebrate the little wins, answer the very important questions, wipe tears, build confidence and somehow keep showing up with patience and care.

A little something different from the Baked Impressions kitchen 📚🍪❤️

These custom cookies were created to celebrate Night Swimming by South Australian author Sharon Kernot — a psychological thriller written in verse, following a woman haunted by the drowning of her best friend and pulled back into the past by memory, insomnia, obsession and the need for answers.

There’s something so fun about taking a book cover, brand or piece of artwork and turning it into something edible, and I loved recreating the bold red, navy and white details of this cover in cookie form.

A gorgeous example of how custom cookies can work for more than birthdays — book launches, author events, corporate functions, media gifts, openings, promotions and special milestones can all be turned into something memorable (and delicious). ✨

And it’s always extra lovely when the work celebrates South Australian talent. ❤️
