There's only 76 days until Christmas!

I've started thinking about my Christmas range.

Following requests from customers last year, I've been putting together some gorgeous gift packs filled with my handmade jams, marmalades, chutneys and relishes.

This year there will be three options:

🎁 Christmas Gift Tin – 2 × 250ml jars – $34

🎁 A Taste of the Tropics – 3 × 250ml jars – $40

🎁 A Little Taste of the Tropics – 3 × 100ml jars – $28

Each will be filled with a selection of Tropical Tempts favourites, beautifully packaged and ready for gifting, with a choice of sweet, savoury or a combination of both.

I thought I'd share a few photos of what I've put together, see what you think. I'll be sharing more details over the next few weeks.

Postage will also be available for the boxes, at the buyer's expense.

With Halloween approaching and the Palm Cove Market on 4 October, I’ve been warming up the cauldron…

A little dark and light magic has emerged from my kitchen sorcery. 🪄

I’ve made two batches of Pumpkin Jam, just for Halloween and they’ve each developed a personality of their own.

One is dark, rich and treacly - deep, sweet and rather indulgent.

The other is lighter, brighter and fruitier, with more of that lovely citrus coming through.

So which one are you drawn to, the dark side or the light? 🎃✨

Something a little different this Saturday! 🌙

Anabela and I will be having a stall at 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡.

I’ll have plenty of Tropical Tempts goodies, and Anabela will be bringing her handmade book sleeves, bookmarks and Blind Date with a Book 📚

There’ll be live music, market stalls, food and plenty happening throughout the afternoon and evening. A great family event, something for everyone.

🌺 The last Rosella Jam batch for 2026 is made!

That's it for the jam this year, but I've kept enough rosellas aside to make my Rosella Flowers in Syrup for Christmas. 🌺🥂

So if you want to grab a jar of Rosella Jam, Carnival on Collins next Sunday is the time to do it.

I'll be there with rosella jam and plenty of the usual Tropical Tempts favourites.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞 - whatever you call yours, the 2026 batch is nearly ready!

I've got two batches laid down this year, with the first ready just in time for Father's Day and Carnival on Collins on 6 September.

Slow-brewed here in Far North Queensland and like lots of good things, it only gets better with age.

Same sauce, two labels. So the only decision is whether Dad gets Worcestershire Sauce or Wash Your Sister Sauce. 😄

🌝 Tropical Tempts is heading to Moon Over Machans!

I don't often have the capacity to squeeze in more than one market a month, but I'm making an exception for Moon Over Machans on Saturday 12 September.

This long-running Machans Beach community event began more than 20 years ago as an evening of live music under the full moon and has grown into an afternoon and evening for the whole family, with live music, local food, market stalls, workshops, kids' activities and more.

I'm really looking forward to supporting a local community event that's right on our doorstep - and enjoying some live music under the moon while we're there!
