After a lot of thought (and more than a few tears), I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close my small baking business.
To everyone who supported me — from the early days as The Frontline Baker to now as Baked By Kell — thank you. Every single order, like, share, and kind piece of feedback has meant the world to me. You allowed me to be a part of your birthdays, baby showers, weddings and so many special moments, and I’ll forever be grateful.
I also want to thank my beautiful support system — my partner, my family, and my friends. You’ve been behind me every step of the way, helping me chase this dream, even when it got tough.
Unfortunately, with the ongoing supply issues, rising costs of ingredients, increasing council and insurance fees, industry price undercutting, and some personal reasons, it’s just no longer sustainable to keep baking as a business. As much as it breaks my heart, constantly running at a loss isn’t something I can continue.
