Pineapple bun x Croissant

Now this is nothing new. I have seen something like this in Taiwan years ago. However, it was a pleasant surprise to see it on the menu of Chef got inspired from her trip to Tainan and created the laminated bolo bao. It tastes exactly like how you would imagine. For people that like Bolo bao solely for the golden crust top, this is certainly a delight.

"Better Luck Tomorrow" is Justin Lin's first solo directorial debut and our feature in this months movie night. The story follows four Asian-American kids making their way through an Orange County suburb in search of a good time but finding bad luck instead.

A classic among many of our Asian-American friends and a landmark of Xanga posts in the early 2000's, the film explores a shape of Asian-American youth culture in an upper-middle class suburban neighborhood.

Screening this Thursday, 5/11 @ 7:30 pm.

For this month's film, we present the "Song of Solomon" cocktail of which all proceeds will go towards . The cocktail features baiju, dark rum, lime green tea + cherry spritz.

Our friend from lent us the pizza master oven to bake shaobing! We’re going to stuff the layered sesame buns with shaved wagyu beef warmed up in niu rou tang, topped with pickled ginger and peppers, melted provolone, cilantro, and jcj sauce (ginger scallion mayo). has been working on this bread for a long time while .brown and have been developing the sandwich composition for months, so this something we’re very excited about! We’re popping up at Mo’s general this Friday noon - sell out with about 50 sandos!!! Also excited to collab on a fun pizza (dofuru margarita? 😍). Stop by for a sando and a slice! 📸

we'll be screening Wong Kar-Wai's film, "Chungking Express" for this month's movie night. in support of our friends we'll be donating 100% of the sales of our film-inspired cocktail, California Dreamin’.

a little about the film:
"The whiplash, double-pronged Chungking Express is one of the defining works of 1990s cinema and the film that made Wong Kar Wai an instant icon. Two heartsick Hong Kong cops (Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung Chiu Wai), both jilted by ex-lovers, cross paths at the Midnight Express take-out food stand, where the ethereal pixie waitress Faye (Faye Wong) works. New Spring Cocktails! 

Slangin new cocktails at the Bakery bar this week.

First, our collaboration with welcomes the Tiger Lily Spritz with yuzu vodka, Forthave Marseille amaro, toasted cardamom and Sanzo Yuzu Ginger

We're also introducing a tasty sipper called the Moonlight. A light and floral drink that's made with gin, chrysanthemum, egg white and lemon.

To kick off our movie night, we’re featuring our cocktail inspired by the Edward Yang film, “A Brighter Summer Day” We'll also be screening the film on Wednesday, 2/2 at 6 pm and will be donating the 100% of the drink's net proceeds to the Center For Asian American Media. - be on the look out for our upcoming movie nights!

Edward Yang's film takes place at a turbulent time in Taiwan's history.  It's both a broadly focused and intimate story set during the 1960's telling a coming of age story about a teenager growing up amid a critical transition period harrowed by street gangs and the "White Terror" witch hunts of Chiang Kai-shek's KMT government.

Ice cream drop for the Lunar New Year! Pints are available in store starting today, and live thru and starting Tuesday.

and are spinning two awesome flavors in the spirit of LNY: 1) red bean ice cream with pistachios and mandarin orange sorbet and 2) black sesame raspberry crunch.

We sold froyo pints a while back utilizing our soft serve machine and had so much fun with it we went full gelato and we’re not looking back!

Please welcome the Nian Gao to the Bakery family! A new classic by that gives us the jitters and nostalgia that comes with the new year.

Nian Gao is a sweet rice cake typically steamed, or fried, sandwiched between sliced sweet potato for the Lunar New Year celebration. This one is baked with eggs and sugar like a mochi-muffin, then glazed and sent off with a little orange zest. 📸

It’s Chinese New Year and we’ve gotten together with friends to supply meals to the elderly and underserved in NYC. Our goal is to raise awareness on the uptick of crimes against Asian communities and to use our voice for a better future.

100% of the proceeds will go towards making these meals and delivering them to the Bowery Mission, Bronx Family Shelter, Nanoom, Willow Ave Shelter, Welcome to Chinatown, and Safe Horizon.
