Sweet 16 Ocean themed Cake ….

I love the ocean and the colour blue so I knew I would really enjoy decorating this cake.

With shades of blue to represent the ocean, rice paper sails for the waves, fondant shells & biscuit crumb sand every element was so much fun to make.

I also made matching 6 GF DF cupcakes for those with dietary restrictions.

This is why you test your recipes … 4 out of 5 of the elements of this Ferrero Rocher inspired cake worked , but the Chocolate Sponge was a total letdown. One thing I cannot stand is Dry Cake IMO! Even after I used a cake soak.

Moral of the story : don’t believe everything you see on social media, the photo of the cake may look amazing but the eating might not be the same !!
