Hi everyone 👋 I hope you’ve all had a wonderful New Year. Just letting you know that I’m going to close down this page soon as “Tara’s Baklava” keeps getting views and requests but I’m no longer baking 🤣 It was a fun and interesting experience but very short-lived as baking masses of baklava quickly became very boring! It served a good purpose though as it motivated me to apply for a couple of jobs. To my excitement, I managed to get a part-time research scientist job at UQ. So... I’ve hung up my Tara’s Baklava apron and fished out my lab coat from deep within my wardrobe and begun my career as Dr Congo. Thank you to everyone who supported my work-from-home experiment, if you miss the Baklava I’m more than happy to pass on the recipe 🤗

A big thank you to everyone who has supported my work-from-home experiment and bought my home-cooked baklava. With the cost of the ingredients and the amount of time it takes to prepare and package up the baklava, if I am to continue I will unfortunately have to increase the price a little bit in order to cover my time at a more reasonable rate. So from now onwards the trays will be $12.

I will be baking this Thursday ready for collection on Friday 14th of September. If you’d like some baklava this week please comment below. $12/tray.

School is back! 🚘 🏫 👋 👩‍🍳

I’ll be baking a few batches of baklava this Thursday and will have the $10 trays ready for collection on Friday (20th July). If you want one please comment below or PM me.

For YSS parents - if you’d like me to bring your tray to school drop off (8:45-9am) or pick up (2:45-3:15pm) to collect from me outside the Prep 4 building, just add the instruction (“P4 morning” or “P4 arvo”) in comment.

I’m excited that the next round of baking I do will be with Australian Walnuts 🇦🇺 (instead of Californian which I have used previously). I will be baking again in 2 or 3 weeks time 😊

Hi everyone 👋 I was not intending to bake this week as I don’t want to be responsible for any form of baklava overdose or rapid weight gain 😬, but I’ve had a few orders for the $10 trays this Friday. So I will be turning on the oven and getting out the pastry brush again this Thursday (28th June). If you want a $10 tray this Friday (29th June) comment below or PM me.
